Not only is there virtually nothing on there, but we went to watch the 2nd season of the Real World and in every 30 minute episode there were AT LEAST two commercial breaks that were 330 seconds long.
A minimum of 11 minutes of commercials, during 22 minutes of content, on a service I paid for.
Anyways, you originally mentioned "one source", which is why I called it a monopoly. Now you're trying to move the goalposts and change your argument to be in favor of what, a duopoly with Netflix vs Amazon? That's not much better than a monopoly, and it's absurd to believe that they'd "have the same content". Content exclusivity is the biggest factor that draws new customers to a streaming service, not minor features that bug some people, so they'd still push for exclusivity deals and original content, like they do now.
Also, neither of these arguments change the fact that yes, it is a wise choice to jump from service to service because it saves you a LOT of money. If you're too lazy to do that, then again, just subscribe to a cable package, or Amazon Prime Video w/ multiple Channels added on. Whatever floats your boat.

Also, why every other year for the Black Friday Hulu deal? I also signed up for Hulu last Black Friday (what a great deal!) and was hoping to do it again this year. Do you have to be out a full year to be a "new" customer?
Thanks!
You can set up a Netflix group by getting the top plan.
Having a 3 more people for the group.
I get a random email, password, get a prepaid card (ebay) for the agreed 12 months after everyone pays their share.
4 people can stream 4k at one time with no problems. There's a 5th slot for a user but that is kept vacant so nobody gets kicked.
You now have Netflix for a couple bucks month. If you use a new email on a new device when setting up you can get a month trial for free so 13 months for $24 last time I checked.
I use random emails because I do it with it internet people but if you have work friends or family you trust than just use whatever.

Looks like the top plan runs $17.99 per month ($215.88 per year): https://help.netflix.co
Could only find one, single prepaid Netflix card on eBay in the amount/value of $60; priced at $62. That would cover about three (3) months of service. Are there usually more than one prepaid Netflix cards available on eBay?
What is the purpose of using the prepaid card rather than a credit card? - is it so shared users cannot see your personal credit card information? (If not, why not just pay with a credit card?)
Lastly, can't figure out your reference to $24. I understand getting an extra month - 13 months - but how does $24 figure into that?
Thanks again for your help.
