Competition is good for the consumer, if the service stinks, it will go away on it's own. If there is a monopoly they can charge you as much as they like, and you have no other choice. No one is forced to use all of the available services at once, just bounce around, taking advantage of all the deals and offers.

I've heard many stories of people being charged, even though they canceled on time.

That service sucks

Not only is there virtually nothing on there, but we went to watch the 2nd season of the Real World and in every 30 minute episode there were AT LEAST two commercial breaks that were 330 seconds long.

A minimum of 11 minutes of commercials, during 22 minutes of content, on a service I paid for.
Well then you need the $9.99 no commercial package.

Lol, if anyone's raging, it seems to be you, with the numerous typos you're making. Also seems pretty silly of you to accuse me of being an SJW just because I acknowledge the fact that monopolies don't work out for consumers. That doesn't really have anything to do with social justice.

Anyways, you originally mentioned "one source", which is why I called it a monopoly. Now you're trying to move the goalposts and change your argument to be in favor of what, a duopoly with Netflix vs Amazon? That's not much better than a monopoly, and it's absurd to believe that they'd "have the same content". Content exclusivity is the biggest factor that draws new customers to a streaming service, not minor features that bug some people, so they'd still push for exclusivity deals and original content, like they do now.

Also, neither of these arguments change the fact that yes, it is a wise choice to jump from service to service because it saves you a LOT of money. If you're too lazy to do that, then again, just subscribe to a cable package, or Amazon Prime Video w/ multiple Channels added on. Whatever floats your boat.
The point you're intentionally missing is that I am saying that each consumer should have the option to get all of his content from a single provider (from a choice of many). I used two examples as not to confuse your small mind.

dispute it with your credit card. amazon music unlimited kept charging me for months and i would dispute it with my CC since Amazon wouldnt do anything about it, got a refund every month and got to use the music service.

can you cancel immediately and you still get your month or is it one of the ones where canceling makes you immediately lose access?
You keep your free month.

Normally I'm 100% with you, but we are getting a ton of mediocrity, and its going to bring back piracy. Competition is good when the quality is good, in this situation, the more competition, the lower the quality.

I tried that and it said "Error processing promotion" or something. So I ended up canceling completely.

How did you find the Netflix group and set this up? Does it work like Visible - just join a group online? Or does your group consist of your personal family and friends?

Also, why every other year for the Black Friday Hulu deal? I also signed up for Hulu last Black Friday (what a great deal!) and was hoping to do it again this year. Do you have to be out a full year to be a "new" customer?

Thanks!
I rotate Hulu and Netflix every year because it gives me enough content to watch.
You can set up a Netflix group by getting the top plan.

Having a 3 more people for the group.

I get a random email, password, get a prepaid card (ebay) for the agreed 12 months after everyone pays their share.

4 people can stream 4k at one time with no problems. There's a 5th slot for a user but that is kept vacant so nobody gets kicked.

You now have Netflix for a couple bucks month. If you use a new email on a new device when setting up you can get a month trial for free so 13 months for $24 last time I checked.

I use random emails because I do it with it internet people but if you have work friends or family you trust than just use whatever.

Thanks for great information! Repped you. Smilie

Looks like the top plan runs $17.99 per month ($215.88 per year): https://help.netflix.com/en/node/24926 Do they charge taxes and fees on top of that? Or is $17.99 the actual, bottom-line payment amount each month?

Could only find one, single prepaid Netflix card on eBay in the amount/value of $60; priced at $62. That would cover about three (3) months of service. Are there usually more than one prepaid Netflix cards available on eBay?

What is the purpose of using the prepaid card rather than a credit card? - is it so shared users cannot see your personal credit card information? (If not, why not just pay with a credit card?)

Lastly, can't figure out your reference to $24. I understand getting an extra month - 13 months - but how does $24 figure into that?

Thanks again for your help.
