Always use your points for statement credit to reduce the bill amount.

By using them on Amazon, you are missing the opportunity to earn cash back on points which are used for purchase. For $5, that's 25c in cashback lost.
The manual is available for download on the Amazon product page, and there is a section for "Installing the battery" showing the rear is unscrewable. So it does seem to be replacable.

Followed thread down to make sure someone gave the correct answer to why you always apply rewards as statement credits. Thanks for setting it straight.

I have this light. Didn't realize that until I tapped this deal and Amazon showed I bought it in Jan for $18. Battery is definitely replaceable. You unscrew a bottom cap to reveal the micro usb charging port. At that point you unscrew another inner cap to get to battery. Battery is a 12.16wh 18650 with govee text on it. Too bad this deal is dead. I would totally get another for family. Solid construction and good functionality.

That's a great point. Applause

I think someone has a poor grasp of economics. How does 5% cash back sucker one into spending more money. Example…….you pay $100 for an item I pay $100 for same item and earn a FREE $5? I think you're the sucker sir or maybe just not to swift. It's definitely one or the other.
Forget economics - let's just use common sense...

If you buy something for $100 and you get $5 back then you have just bought something for $95. That $5 is not "FREE" - it came from your pocket! nod

And just to be an annoying preaching generalizer... this type of thinking is one reason people in this country carry so much debt. You finance a car and you get $2000 cashback and you think "Great, FREE money!" and you go and blow it on toys. Actually, you will end up paying that $2000 back, and with interest. A wise thing to do would be to use any cash incentive to pay down the loan. Always start from the fact that any incentives you get are ultimately money from your own pocket. Not understanding that is a route to poverty and ultimately to an early grave. It really is that serious.

As long as it's roughly in the 1000 lumen's range, it's probably fine. I'm more interested in the CREE XM-L3 LED that it uses. According to CREE's website, it's one of their most efficient (lumen/watt) LED. A lot of companies advertise CREE LEDs but have something more inferior instead in their flashlight. Hopefully Govee is not one of their company. Ordered one last night, so we'll see in a few days if it's actually worth $12.

Just got it. The battery is removable. In fact, you have to unscrew the secondary battery cap to remove the insulation sheet to get it working according to the installation instructions. Very bright and good weight.

Just got it. For the money I'm happy with it. My EDC is a tried and tested BLF A6 XPL, which is a nice little little light. This is half the price, larger body of course, and 1k lumens is.... mmm... we'll see "generous". However, for the features and lighting, it's hard to beat $12. It's going to be my cheap sitting-in-the-house light I grab when I need extra light and I don't have my pants on. Wish I purchased 2, actually.

Not available anymore but this is an excellent flashlight that has lasted compared to others I've had. Still going strong! I used it at work. Use it around the house, garage, and vehicle. I would have paid $50 for it. It was a gift from my fiancé. Govee makes great products! Use: FRIEND-D9SGLD4 for 10% promo
