By using them on Amazon, you are missing the opportunity to earn cash back on points which are used for purchase. For $5, that's 25c in cashback lost.

Followed thread down to make sure someone gave the correct answer to why you always apply rewards as statement credits. Thanks for setting it straight.
I have this light. Didn't realize that until I tapped this deal and Amazon showed I bought it in Jan for $18. Battery is definitely replaceable. You unscrew a bottom cap to reveal the micro usb charging port. At that point you unscrew another inner cap to get to battery. Battery is a 12.16wh 18650 with govee text on it. Too bad this deal is dead. I would totally get another for family. Solid construction and good functionality.

If you buy something for $100 and you get $5 back then you have just bought something for $95. That $5 is not "FREE" - it came from your pocket!
And just to be an annoying preaching generalizer... this type of thinking is one reason people in this country carry so much debt. You finance a car and you get $2000 cashback and you think "Great, FREE money!" and you go and blow it on toys. Actually, you will end up paying that $2000 back, and with interest. A wise thing to do would be to use any cash incentive to pay down the loan. Always start from the fact that any incentives you get are ultimately money from your own pocket. Not understanding that is a route to poverty and ultimately to an early grave. It really is that serious.
