I bought one in December of 2020 because the open box was $86 at best buy, but to be honest for a non-artist there is no noticable difference in use than my wife's $30 Amazon third-party one. The only advantage this has to me is the ability to double-tap to change brushes natively and on-device charging, which is a double-edge sword as it does draw battery from the iPad while charging.

Meanwhile the third-party one can be charged separately, turned off manually, usable on all current ipads not just the air & pro models, and seems to have better battery life while offering the same feel and speed/accuracy aside from lacking pressure sensitivity.
Dude, do us all a favor and go and get vaccinated.

Thank you for this, I've been contemplating for the longest time on paying almost $100 for a "stylus" that I'm probably not gonna use. But this is still a great deal for artists, great find op.

Great deal. I am not an artist and have been using a $1.00 stylus for years because I like not finger printing up my iPad.

I really wanted one but it's my understanding the Apple Pencil doesn't handle some of the gestures…like swiping up from the bottom to access the Home Screen and Task Switcher for accessing or closing multiple windows. If that's correct then I have to touch the screen with my finger, which (for me) would make the thing less useful than a stylus.

Can anyone confirm, because this looks to be a great deal, and I'd love to have one so long as I don't have to start touching my screen to do things a cheap stylus can do.

Yes, it can't swipe up from the bottom. I was in the apple store yesterday and was kind of baffled by this

Got it at this price back when the M1 pro dropped and love it. I thought it was a gimmick item for all these years until I had one and used it. Sure, there are cheaper copies of this but they are cheap copies. This is a quality item. Nice weight, great build quality and fits in the cut outs that case manufacturers build for it. They don't make cases to fit the alternative pens.

Yes, it can do this and it will change (add) functionality to the pen when iOS 15 drops. If you haven't seen that part of the keynote, check it out.

I see where there is a new notes capability, but I'm not seeing anything talking about being able to swipe up for the Home Screen like I described. I hope you're right, I just can find it.
