Meanwhile the third-party one can be charged separately, turned off manually, usable on all current ipads not just the air & pro models, and seems to have better battery life while offering the same feel and speed/accuracy aside from lacking pressure sensitivity.

Meanwhile the third-party one can be charged separately, turned off manually, usable on all current ipads not just the air & pro models, and seems to have better battery life while offering the same feel and speed/accuracy aside from lacking pressure sensitivity.

I really wanted one but it's my understanding the Apple Pencil doesn't handle some of the gestures…like swiping up from the bottom to access the Home Screen and Task Switcher for accessing or closing multiple windows. If that's correct then I have to touch the screen with my finger, which (for me) would make the thing less useful than a stylus.
Can anyone confirm, because this looks to be a great deal, and I'd love to have one so long as I don't have to start touching my screen to do things a cheap stylus can do.
