Which Costco Lorex system did you upgrade to?

When it was on sale a few months back. Added on the $100 off $500 coupon too when that was live.

Qsee was Dahua, right?
FYI - some of the Q-see cameras / nvr are Dahua OEM .. other newer models were another OEM

many of the IP PoE Q-see cameras were decent Dahua OEM models imho
( decent, that is I would keep them still .. and augment with a couple newer larger sensor models .. if the NVR dies, then go Blue Iris or Dahua SmartPSS on a used PC + poe switch )

Do these have better cameras Matt?

https://www.costco.com/lorex-32-c...96184.html
iirc those newer cameras have smaller sensors ..

double check ..

Nice! $550 is a steal for sure.
Can you check whether you can stream all cameras in one window?
This review mentions about that in 20:00.

No was $400 total off. $300 sale + $100 from coupon. Yes, you can stream 1 camera, 4 cameras, or 9 cameras at once with vertical or horizontal view in one window on my iPhone app.

I think this kit has never seen $300 sale. Are you sure it was this kit? Maybe yours is the 9 camera kit with 16 channel NVR and you paid $900 (1,300 - $400)?

Correct. I have the other NVR set that I mentioned above initially with the link. Don't have the version in this thread. Sorry to get confusing.

Thank you! Can't wait to know the answer for this mystery Smilie
Okay, I watched the video today (finally) and wished I had last night to answer quicker.

When you see the "4 square" image showing 3 streams, that's the display from the NVR hooked up to his computer or monitor. When you see the white background where he side scrolls through the images of the streams, that's the app. 1 live stream viewable at a time only.

You will see a static image as you scroll through the available streams, usually the last live view image in the apps cache. But that's it, sorry.

Take a look at the minute: 20:02. He says there is a button that shows "1" and he says that's where you can select 4 or 8 for multiple screens. Sorry to have you check again but I think I understood it correctly Smilie thank you again.

No worries. I must have missed your original post. You have the 16 channel which you can add more cameras eventually Smilie

You are correct. After force-closing the app and clearing the cache, I restarted after finally updating.

You can view more than one stream now on the app. 1, 4, 9 are the options for me.

Good to know, thanks for informing me! Repped!

If I only need 4 of the cameras, am I able to buy an NVR from Lorex (say this one https://www.lorextechnology.com/nvr-network-video-recorder/4k-nvr-with-smart-motion-detection/N842A8... [lorextechnology.com] and give the rest of the cameras for my parents to use at their house? I.E, the cameras aren't tied to the specific NVR that it is sent with?

Correct, cameras aren't tied to the specific NVR, so you can buy an extra NVR and split your 4 cameras with your parents. Keep in mind though, if you need more cameras in the future, then you are going to pay a lot more for those extra ones...

Hi nimagooy,

fwiw - imho I think the Lorex individual NVRs to be over priced in general ..

Instead of buying a NVR from Lorex I would look at a used business class PC + poe switch and run Dahua OEM SmartPSS or Blue Iris VMS or another VMS software ..
