Can someone tell me why manufacturers prefer to solder RAM? Is it because it's inaccessible due to design or is it them being a dick about it?

Because the soldered-on RAM takes up less space + removes the requirement to place it where they can also install an access door in a chassis. Also, it costs them less.

Bought this laptop. It's mostly great, but the battery life is pretty poor. Had to turn screen down to 60hz to get any kind of respectable battery life.

How close does this 3060 compare to a desktop 3060?

Wow... 230w power supply for a 45w cpu and 100w gpu? How in earth is the rest of that system sucking down 85w?

Good deal, but take a look at the Legion 5 at Microcenter too. It's thicker and heavier, but uses the full130w 3060 with the same screen. Build quality of the Legion 7 will be a bit better, but if you mostly care about pushing quality settings at higher framerates, the more powerful 3060 is the way to go. The Legion 5 is $100 cheaper too.

Same here, with 60hz and balanced mode, I'm only getting 6 hours max. How long does yours last?

Probably around the same. Honestly haven't used it that much since figuring out how to lengthen the battery life. When it was on default settings, I could literally see the battery percentage dropping like 1% per minute, it was crazy lol.

Do you happen to have an annoying "clicking" sound on the right click side of the track pad? Not the normal click it makes when you press it down, but almost like there's something stuck under the right side of the trackpad?

I have the Intel Corei7-10875H/2060 MaxQ version of this laptop (slate grey), and it is really well built.
Regards to battery life, uninstall Corsair iCue 4. Install iCue v3, and disable all of the Corsair services in services.msc. Leaving my panel set to 144hz @ 50% brightness, I can still get 5-6 hrs of batt life. Not great for a laptop, but great for a gaming notebook. I am very happy with my Legion Slim 7i.
