... As for the holds, I don't know why they kept triggering on my card even though they weren't actually shipping yet. ...
There are generally two steps in each credit card transaction -- authorization and capture. When you place an order, retailers will request an authorization first to make sure you can actually pay for the item you ordered. These authorizations are usually good for a few days and the exact duration may vary by card provider. These normally show as pending charges on your card. Once the ordered item ships, the authorized funds will be captured and you will see that as a charge on your credit card. If your item cannot be shipped within the initial authorization period, retailers may request a new authorization before shipping, which is why you may see pending charges on your card show up and then disappear a few times before your item ships.

I have the same dates for my L5 pro. At first it said Aug 23 for ETA with no ship date, appears to be generic.

Just got pushed to the same date. Spoke to sales earlier and the best they could do on the slim was 1499 which someone posted earlier. He recommended waiting 2 weeks and the stock should improve. I believe none of that but fingers crossed... All the other deals are for a 3060 for around the same price or a little more. I will wait to see what happens.

I had hoped a nice surprise of a couple weeks earlier shipping estimate. Well, I will just wait.

I just talked to Customer Service Chat at Lenovo and they said my order for a Storm Gray Legion 5 Pro is shipping tomorrow. My order status page says shipping end of November, but the customer service rep assured me that the shipping date hasn't been updated on my end but will ship tomorrow August 3rd. *Crosses fingers*

That rep is talking about your prefferd shipping date , not the actual shipping date .. ull see after 24 hrs nothing will change..

Think my pro and my 17 are both november 30 and December 7 now. Highly unlikely that no one has a ship date for the next three/four months and that all these laptops will just magically appear on that date so I'm sure they'll be adjusted.

Hello I talked to the same Lenovo rep yesterday, who told me "the item will ship out 080321 today and you will see the updated shipping date within 24 hours". Of course, the system still showed the ship date as Dec 7. I reached out to Lenovo Customer Support again today. The different rep told me completely opposite story saying that they haven't even built the laptop yet, so cannot be ship out today, and the system is accurate lol

The charge has also been dropped from my transaction history. However, now I am seeing that my available credit is still the same, has not increased. Will it impact the available credit this whole time? How am I supposed to use the card then?

The rep was saying that your computer is shipping even though the system said complete opposite pretty much?

Do you only have one card with a low limit?

You're supposed to use the card assuming you don't have that money available for other purchases. If you need that money for something else then you have to cancel your order. If you max out your card and Lenovo tries to get a new authorization before shipping then that authorization will fail and they will cancel your order.
