OK folks cancelled my Legion 5 Pro order with the 32GB bad ram, 2x1TB SSDs, 3070. Last order status was Oct 1 delivery date. Price after tax was $1647. Due to Lenovo dragging their feet no cash back from Rak10.

With the new Legion 7 deals costing almost the same with cashback other manufacturers labor days sales and the impending release of Intel's Alder Lake 16-core 24-thread CPUs this is no longer as attractive as it once was.

Good luck peoples.

Well the Lenovo 5 gen 6 @ $1150 is still a good deal to hold on to.

I will see if the September 18th date sticks.

Alder lake deals won't be available till Jan to February 2022 and will use the same 3000 series cards.

Alder lake and a 3070 super will come at a much later date.

This Lenovo deal is still gold.

OEMs could use Alder Lake and the Nvidia Super refreshes to drop these prices too. New good price for L5P with 32GB, 2TB, 3070 is $1249 like last years 4800H + 2070s.

Alder Lake laptops are popping up on geek bench already through a few careless employees. They will be here before Xmas. Intel is losing badly to AMD and can't afford to miss the Xmas season. First batch DDR4 memory and RTX 3000. Next batch in 2022 will include the RTX 3000 SUPER refreshes and possibly move to DDR5 by Black Friday 2022.

Also Legion 5 has keyboard and stuttering issues see their forums.

With global chip shortages I am doubting to see alder lake this year

But a 3070 laptop at 1150 is still a better deal no matter how you slice it.

3070 chips are still badly suffering from the shortage.
Alder lakes have not yet hit the desktop market. It will be quite a while until they hit the laptop markets. And, GPU prices are soaring up worldwide once again, indicating chip shortages are gonna become worse. It will be a while until the alder lake 3070 combinations going to be a market hit.

Lastly, when that comes, everyone will say - AMD's next-gen chips will use 3D stacking and a big leap in performance. Pair that with the upcoming RTX 4000 in late 2022, the Alder lake 3070 combinations will be completely outdated within 5 months.

L5P for 1500$, L5 for 1150, I still think an excellent deal for the time being.

I've been eyeing the various L7 deals that popped up. I kinda want that RGB, but not for an extra $500-600 lol

As for Alder lake, if release cycle is the same as the 11th gen, those CPUs will only go to the ultrabooks in the first half of the year. Gaming laptops didn't get released in quantity until half way thru this year.

I canceled my pro lol. I know I won't need 32gb of ram or the extra 1tb of space for a while. If you take those 2 upgrades away you can just buy a legion 5 pro 16 for close to or less as this deal when on sale with much faster delivery. Also since I game mostly on an external monitor the L17 makes more sense.
