Had one for awhile now. If you need a new alarm clock for $45 then this is ok. If not it's pretty useless. Screen size is a killer. Need to be right in top of it to see anything.

I got one for my birthday and I LOVE it. It is anything but useless. Mine is in my kitchen. I use it for recipes, shopping list, watch shows, make calls, etc. I can understand the argument that "my phone does all of that." Because it can. But honestly, not touching my phone (or any device) while cooking makes it all worth it.

Got one for $20 with a Ring and wish I would have saved the $20. Screen size is smaller than most phones and the microphone completely sucks for giving voice commands. You have to face the screen and yell very loudly, unlike the Echo dots which you can just talk normally from across the room.

Agree with the comments above about it not being able to pick up voice commands as well as the dots, also Amazon seems to think they can use this to advertise junk and change our on screen settings and don't give us the option to opt out (suggestions and try features). We mainly use ours as a rotating picture album.

Piece of garbage. Touch screen doesn't work well. Interface is slow and the microphone doesn't always pick up voice commands.

I have one in the kitchen for Ring Doorbell. A tiny bit of water on the screen would cause the device playing random video or news. Annoying af.

The screen on any size Echo Show is pretty useless. I have a 5" and an 8" and apart from the alarm clock aspect I haven't found any good use for the screens. If I had to buy another new Echo right now it would the Echo Dot with Clock. I would look on local ads first.

Got this free with the ring doorbell. Absolute POS. I agree with all the above comments.

Yup, I've had the 8 since 2018 and now I also have a 5 for the bedroom. I can see my front yard clearly through the ring app. I don't know what people expect out of electronics, but every thread is "I thought it could do more" . This ain't a Tex Avery cartoon, it's not gonna cook you breakfast.

We have the 10" and it's perfectly usable for the screen size.

This 5" is really only useful as an alarmclock, IMO

Probably the worst Amazon product one can buy. Constantly showing ads on the frame, slow response for ring, does not respond to voice commands like the dot. My dot from 2 rooms can hear it but not the echo in the same room. Really that bad. Amazon need to pay me for using this trash.
