Received yesterday, its barebone and not strong enough for my 27" Dell Monitor. It tilts forward. Guess you get what you pay for.

I picked up a few of this style a while back Monitor stand [amazon.com] and have been fairly happy about them. I got a 2 pack somewhere for about $20 and just recently picked up a single for ~$12. Yes they are twice as expensive as this deal but the 4 leg design makes them much more sturdy and able to hold heavier loads. I am using 2 for my work monitors (22" dells) and my wife has one her machine for a 24" monitor. They wouldn't have a problem with bigger/heavier monitors.

This appears to be the same product but a few bucks cheaper ($11.99- 20% coupon =~$9.60). I haven't actually used it and I have no affiliation with the seller, just happened to see it while browsing.

If you still have those stacked.why would you spend more to get a stand?
On the other hand it us 3 in high so resting your laptop wont be that good for your wrists unless you plug in a separate keyboard.

Here's another option (currently 2 for $13.99) that seem similar to what you have, BUT are not adjustable. I know this doesn't help you, but might help others. who want the 4 leg version.

If you simply want to elevate something, then a stack of copy paper is fine (until you run out of copy paper and your "monitor stand" gets canibalized). However, these give you ventilation (which means nothing in a monitor stand, but can be useful for laptops and other electronics that sit directly on top). You also get space underneath it.

I bought a different one because I have a couple of power strips on top of my desk and they can go under the laptop, instead of behind it.

Also, with the cost of copy paper, a monitor stand is actually cheaper Smilie.

I have built in shelves in my office and use these to help maximize storage for my legos. It helps split the large shelf openings into two so I can stack. I haven't found any cheaper alternatives yet. Acrylic is vastly more expensive.

Just an FYI, search for PUTORSEN on amazon and you can find the 4 legged models for 16.87 - 50% coupon on page = ~$8.40.

These are nicer, as they have height adjustment and as previously noted, will take more weight.

Thanks. I canceled the order I had for the thread deal and got yours instead. I agree the 4 legged design seems more robust and height adjustment is an extra benefit. Worth an extra $2.
