I got an email today for $70 off a new Paperwhite or Oasis, plus $25 ebook credit for being one of the "early adopters" of the 3G Kindle. This applies to Kindle (1st and 2nd gen) and Kindle DX (2nd gen).
I personally had the Kindle Keyboard with 3G and wifi. Just checked the code and it applied to my Amazon account. There's also a promo for 20% off a new Kindle if you trade in an old Kindle, plus a $5-$25 gift card, depending on model/condition, which looks like it stacks with this offer.
Check your email if you bought one of these early 3G models for the code.
If my math serves:
Paperwhite (current gen) 8GB, with ads
129.99
- 70 (email code)
- 26 (20% off with trade-in)
- 25 (trade-in gift card value for a Paperwhite 6th gen)
= $8.99 +tax
or,
Oasis (current gen) 8GB, with ads
249.99
- 70 (email code)
- 50 (20% off with trade-in)
- 25 (trade-in gift card value)
= 104.99 +tax

"The 1st and 2nd generation Kindle, as well as the 2nd generation Kindle DX — both of which don't have Wi-Fi capability, only cellular — will not be able to connect to the internet at all"

Starting this December, Mobile Network Operators (MNOs) in the U.S. will start phasing out their 2G and 3G networks (to learn more about MNO 2G and 3G network deprecation, click here). This means that some prior generation Kindle devices, including Kindle (1st and 2nd Generation) and Kindle DX (2nd Generation), will no longer be able to connect to the internet. Customers who own these devices will still be able to enjoy previously downloaded content on their Kindle, but they will no longer be able to access or download new content wirelessly.
Other devices, including Kindle Keyboard (3rd Generation), Kindle Touch (4th Generation), Kindle Paperwhite (5th Generation, 6th Generation, and 7th Generation), Kindle Voyage (7th Generation), and Kindle Oasis (8th Generation), will only be able to connect to the internet using Wi-Fi. If you are unsure which device you have, see Identify Your Kindle E-reader for more information.
To thank you for being one of our earliest customers, we'd like to offer you a promotion code, valid through August 15, 2021, at 11:59 pm (PDT) for $70 off a new Kindle Paperwhite or Kindle Oasis, plus $25 in eBook credits. Terms and Conditions apply.
