Oh hell no. You can't recondition a battery. They can keep this. Lol. My battery was just under 3 years old and had lost about a 1/3 of its capacity. I could not longer finish my yard on one charge. I had to stop and wait for it to recharge. I complained to ego on Twitter and they sent me a new/sealed one.

The battery they sent me seems to last just as long as my other new battery even though it is reconditioned. I'm not sure if they replaced any of the batteries inside. It's a year warranty so I'm not too worried.
Also, the mower looked spotless. The blade was new and no sign of dirt anywhere.
Overall, it was worth the $300 I spent a couple of weeks ago. Would I paid $349 now for it if I didn't have a time machine? Probably since I have other Ego tools I use and having an extra battery makes it worth it.

I think $300 for this would be a great deal. $350 is reasonable though.
