Frequent riders who drain a full battery and recharge it all the way, every day, seven days a week, will see about 2.5 years of life from their battery. A casual rider's battery can last closer to 6-7 years.

My wife and I bought these 5 months ago, ebikes are great fun. The MINI a nice bike. I've added a nice Brooks saddle and racks since purchasing and find myself running errands with the bike just for fun. The bike goes 20 MPH fairly easy, not too much more difficult than walking. I highly recommend this bike. For reference I'm 6'3" 280.

Penny-farthing. I know this is a joke, but it really helps the delivery when you know the name of the thing you're referencing. Plus, penny-farthing is just fun to say!

I am considering either the radrunner plus or this. Is the radrunner plus worth an extra $500?

These are a waste of money IMHO. I converted one of those bicycles with one huge wheel and one tiny wheel that you have to run and jump to mount to electric for very cheap. I have no regerts.

This review from Electrek might be useful to you. Micah was pretty impressed but it's probably going to come down to whether you are interested in all of the upgrades they include with the Plus.

i got one too a few months back myself. i love it. with pedal assist you get good exercise and it's fun. i even use it to run small errands. my knees aren't good and coupled with psoriatic arthritis, it's tough to get things going and this bike helps me get out and have fun. i'm in some ebike communities and have heard generally positive comments about this bike too.

I haven't heard anything about a Federal rebate in any upcoming legislation but for our Cali peeps, it could possibly be a thing this year, although I don't really follow/understand the minutia of government

I bought the RadRunner 1 used and really enjoy it. With that said, yes I think the extra money is worth it as you will likely spend that in upgrades anyway and the Plus gives you gears and front suspension which you could not easily add even if you wanted.

Does anyone know the difference between this and the Lectric XP that's $300 less?

$300 = 250W less in motor and about 26 cells less in the battery pack

The Rad comes with an 11-34 freewheel which many say the Lectric should have come with. I have a Lectric XP 1.0 and I'm constantly feeling the "run out of pedal effect" at higher speeds. I can reach 28 mph if I really push but I'm pedaling like crazy and I don't like doing it for long. Apparently the 11-34 freewheel would alleviate this a bit.

It also looks like the battery is easier to remove on the Rad. While the Lectric isn't too bad to fold once you get the hang of it, it's still annoying and a bit clunky. With the Rad it's right there and looks easy enough to access. This also means the key is likely in an easier-to-reach spot than under the frame like on the Lectric.

The Lectric does come with a rear rack while it looks like that's an extra on the Rad.

- 750W motor (Rad Mini 4) vs 500W motor (Lectric XP)
- Battery sizes - 48 volt 14 amp battery (Rad Mini 4) vs 48 volt 9.6 amp battery (Lectric XP). The Rad MIni 4 will have more range than the Lectric, due to the larger battery size than the Lectric XP.
- Design/Styling (Your preference for design/style of both ebikes)
- $300 - $1299 for Rad Mini 4 vs $999 for the Lectric XP.
