Yeah, it's only like 4 dollar savings and too much work so I'll have to let the savings go to the viewers of this post

Good find OP, too bad you have to call CS to cancel orders from KitchenAid. I probably won't bother with that.

Kitchen aid food processors have been expensive. They are reliable in my opinion. I have a 3 cup one for many years and it's still running strong without any noticeable issues.

New one costs double or triple depends on stores.

How many dB are these? We had a one that was so loud. I'm sure we should have been using hearing protection (it wasn't kitchenaid brand)

I just bought this model at Costco on sale for $70 last week (hadn't even gotten around to unboxing it).

Anyone know what the warranty is like on a KitchenAid refurb? I like Costco for their generous return policy but it's probably not worth paying double for it.

I'm in the exact situation like you're in right now. Just opened and tested it (made some dough and it turned out pretty good!). But reliability and serviceability is a major concern for me as well. Is it worth to stick with Costco purchase (new, returns possible) vs overstock (refurbished, unsure about warranty /returns)?

Ok, for 7$, you can add a two year 'protection plan'. Does anyone have experience with overstock protection plan? The details page (https://help.overstock.com/help/s...nformation) talks about a 'platinum protection plan' but that's not mentioned in the product page.

i always thought i wanted a food processor until i finally received one as a christmas gift. for soups, immersion blender is where its at. for salsa and hummus i use a blender. i tried using the food processor to prep stuff for a stir fry and i prefer to slice manually with a knife. sold it and reclaimed the counter space.
