This is a 3:2 ratio screen and it make web life even better when just cruising as a laptop:

This screen is IPS covered by gorilla glass. It works great and looks decent. 180 degree hinge.

As for 1080p? My Acer Spin 1 (paid $150 sale.... Big fan of my Acer) is also 720p and I have no issue with it at all. The picture quality is still HD and looks good. The bigger PRO for this is that it has an IPS screen rather than an LED/LCD screen. My Acer Spin 1 has the LED/LCD so this IPS screen is going to look better, brighter and more crisp. Nothing wrong with LED/LCD but I do prefer if it had IPS. IPS > 1080p to me..... When one pays $129 or budget prices, it only makes sense that it will use the budget screen and budget processor. The budget processor will handle the 720p screen quality better. Chrome OS is also less demanding so budget processors works very well. For some odd reason, the mid-range processors used by chromebooks drastically increases the price by a lot and more than PC laptops with mid-range processors. Is it needed? Eh. I thought about the i3 HP Chromebook and the sale price wasn't there. I don't know why anyone would consider an expensive powerful processor for Chrome OS.

* I remember seeing the other models built like this. It can take more of a beating than other laptops. This is also a good option for children who beat up the computers and bring their laptops to school. It seems like elementary schools are favoring Chrome OS over PC or IOS to me.
