I currently have Tracfone service on the AT&T network with a service end date of 12/15/2024. When the sale of Tracfone to Verizon is finalized will Tracfone (under the new Verizon ownership) still offer service on the ATT network? I don't want to buy more Tracfone minutes and data and in a few years have them tell me I have to switch my service over to Verizon and get a new phone that runs on the Verizon network.
We have no way of knowing what they plan to do (or when). Just another reason not to wait too long to activate these.
Everything is YMMV since things will be changing if/when sale is approved.

Does this allow for hotspot use?
If you have a recent iPhone it does. I can't speak to any other phones.

Me too, but I'm using with unlocked phones, not locked Tracfones on Verizon.

ATT is easiest since it doesn't link to IMEI. Just activate new sim (keeping current number) & everything will combine & add a year.

I'm not referring to holding off activating this deal. If I bought this deal I'd activate and add it on to my existing service within a few days of receiving the new SIM card. Doing that would extend my service end date on ATT to the end of 2025. My concern is Tracfone (under Verizon ownership) sometime in the future saying they will stop providing service over the ATT network and telling ATT users that have service balances that they must switch to the Verizon network in order to use those balances. And of course to switch to Verizon from an ATT phone would require the purchase of a new Verizon phone. I don't want to have to do that. In my area ATT provides better coverage and faster data speeds than Verizon.

And there lies the real problem. You are not solving your problem properly. The mesh wifi system will cover every inch of the house. Then you can use wifi all you want with super strong reliable signal and you don't have to waste your money on this backup nonsense and use your primary number as intended.
Okay, what would you advise for people that road trip a lot and need service in case they have car issues or are somewhere that doesn't have service for their particular provider? I was going to get one of these SIMs as a backup in case I lose T-mobile signal on the road.

You don't have to justify what you do to a moron.

Have Simple Mobile iPhone SE first gen I bought from SimpleMobile website directly on 2017.

Can you guys please share which carrier should I choose ( ATT compatible or Verizon?) if purchase this Tracfone SIM and plan to use the Simple Mobile iPhone SE? Thanks.
I used to get the Verizon SIM, but my area now has better AT&T coverage, so I've been getting the AT&T version instead.....

Agree it's going to be a mess for those on ATT/T-Mo that don't have good Verizon coverage.
A lot of phones work with all 3 networks and by 2025 you most likely will need a new phone anyway so might not be much of an issue - as long as you can get decent Verizon service. Since ATT is better for you I don't think I'd buy anymore sims.

I just wanted others to be aware that activation needs to happen ASAP since sometimes the sims aren't preloaded. Both Verizon & ATT have had issues in the past.

That response is both arrogant and naive. Many reputable sites have been hacked and their user base ransacked. I have a Gmail account that gets 20-30 spam mails a day for just that reason. In the past it was also quite common for reputable establishments to pass your info on to an associated business or sell as an additional revenue stream.

I think it's quite reasonable for someone to wish to protect their privacy with an additional burner number without it being for an illegal or immoral pourpose.
There are apps like text now or Google duo that you can get a second/burner line for free. I use the text now number a lot when I sign up for something and I'm not sure if I really want to give them my real phone number..

Any way to get points by adding this to an existing account using this same deal from last December? I just want to add the year of service plus minutes text and data to an existing line.
