Hmmm...little suspicious of this deal. As a Tmobile user, I got their letter saying in a couple months my phone/sim card will not work when they upgrade to 5G, so makes me wonder if someone is unloading their current technology stock prior to upgrades by these networks to 5G and if you buy this where do you stand when your carrier upgrades (the usual no problem just upgrade to this 5G phone with a new contractual commitment that makes your $25 look like chump change?)? Don't really know, just reaching out to ask someone who actually knows
If you have a 5G capable phone, you can already get 5G with Tracfone in some cases. I get 5G on my iPhone 12 Pro Max using an AT&T sim card with Tracfone.

Can you share how to add it on top of your existing line? Thanks
Chat is the key. It works MUCH better than calling or trying to do it yourself online.

While in chat:

1) confirm with the rep that the sim card you bought has the proper minutes/texts/data

2) confirm with the rep what your existing account has for minutes/texts/data

3) ask the rep to add your new sim card stats to your existing account

4) while still in chat, make sure that everything was added correctly (can take a few minutes to update) ask the rep for the totals so that it's on the transcript

5) get the chat transcript and save it

This way if there's any question at all, you have the transcript to prove what you should have.

tl;dr Always use chat

How long can I wait before activating this? Can I activate this 4 months from now?
Again - there's only a 30 day return window on eBay. If you wait to activate & there's a problem you'll be out of options.
In the past many of these were shipped without being preloaded - it's up to you if you want to take the chance.

If I buy this plan, what's the regular price for renewal in the future?
Never pay the regular price. This deal comes around like clockwork about every 6 months.

Totally agree about using chat.

Most reps will not even try to apply these to current bundled locked TF since they're sold for NEW BYOP lines.

Many aren't even aware they're available because they don't know there's a TF store on eBay.

Many have kept these for several months, different reps give different answers. I've been told a year & waited over 6 months before - don't think that was the issue.
Ok thanks. Must be because I used a spare TF phone when activating the preloaded sim to try to extend my Verizon based TF service. I had done so successfully last year but don't remember which temp phone I used for the IMEI. I guess I'll use chat going forward

The problem is usually the IMEI on locked TF. If old TF had been in use long enough to get unlocked then IMEI should have worked.
Waiting to activate is usually a crap shoot with these. I've received several that had issues & had to get refunds.

Does TF have a rule where you have to send a text message every 3 months to keep the account active?
I have no idea if this is enforced by TF, but it says 6 months.
See terms & conditions of service LINK https://www.tracfone.com/termsandconditions

Unlimited Carryover®: For Unlimited Talk & Text Smartphone plans, any unused data after your service end date will carryover to the next cycle if active service is maintained and in use with any Unlimited Talk & Text Smartphone plan. For other service plans, any unused minutes, texts and data will not expire as long as any Tracfone service plan is active and in use within any six-month period.

Yeah my spare TF Samsung cheapie (ordered through HSN) was activated for a day and then I swapped over to an iPhone. So it was never unlocked and I used its IMEI for extending the Verizon-based TF service

And so did you end up having an issue?

If I add the plan to a new line, can I then transfer it to my existing line? I have tons of minutes but service date is running out soon. TIA

As I've already posted I have received several of these (bought many for friends & family, they've been available for 2+ years) that were not preloaded & had to get refunds.

You can use chat & ask to merge the 2 lines.

(If you're doing the 2nd line for rewards points the line needs to stay active for at least 60 days, so don't make any changes till after points are applied).

Dont care about reward points, just want to extend the service date on existing line. I have a phone to put the new line onto, but want it to ultimately add it to the existing line. Do they give you trouble when trying to do this and keep the original line and number? Thanks for the info
