I partially agree. It does smell bad. However, it works very well. Some of my towels always smelled bad even after washing them. I even threw out some thinking they were bad quality. Enter this stuff, I just add during the rinse cycle, half amount of what they suggest, and all my clothes now smell fresh. Just wanted to share my experience.
Depends on your washer really. Ideally you put it in where you would put in liquid fabric softener as this is released on the last rinse cycle. Front load washers have a bin in the pullout tray for this. Top loaders vary and some modern ones have a tray for this. I would look in your owners manual if unsure.

Perhaps a dumb question but how do I add this to the rinse cycle? I have to watch my washer until it gets there, pause it so it unlocks the door, pour this stuff in, and then go on with my day?

Yes! Although Lysol makes a sanitizing product specifically for workout gear, I find it's almost the same product between the two types.

Interesting. The instructions say that you have to leave it in the rinse cycle for 16 minutes. I'm not sure my rinse cycle lasts that long. I saw one person say their fabric softener bin isn't large enough for the recommended quantity.

Pretty annoying it has to be added during the rinse cycle.

I tried this stuff and anything I washed it with really irritated my skin. Avoid if you have sensitive skin!

Not a dumb question at all. I use a commercial washer so I had to time how long the cycle takes to reach rinse stage (15 minutes in my case). I just set a timer, open the door and pour this in. It works as it should.
