(1)
- Ship Saw to Home + Ship Ratchet to Store
- Ratchet order will be canceled & refunded
- Let Ratchet sit for 7 days and it's automatic
- Or call the actual Store directly and tell them you can't pick up"the order" (Ratchet) so please cancel "the order." Do this after receiving pickup notification. It's the decent thing to do but I hate this option, also I'm worried they'll cancel the entire order.
- Saw arrives to Home
(2)- Ship Saw to Store + Ratchet to Home
- Cancel Ratchet order within 45 minutes
- Pick up Saw at Store
(3)- Ship Saw + Ratchet to Home
- Go to Store, return Ratchet
(4)I'm partial to Option 2, but I live close to a HD. While Option 1 is most convenient, letting it sit there kinda sucks for the employee's who have limited pick up space. While calling is the decent thing to do I hate having to get transferred to the store and talking to someone.
Option 2 is the most 'noble' imo and doesn't really require me to talk to anyone either.

It may be cheaper to go this route. I'm debating to return it all.

Read the post you quoted, are you serious??
For those that have to order online due to how far their local HD is or lack of inventory, just place your order online. Have the cutter shipped to your home and the ratchet shipped/pickup to your local HD, even if it's an hour away. Simply let the ratchet sit in store for a few days without pickup and the order is automatically canceled. I certainly wouldn't drive 1hr away to personally cancel an order simply to "help the next guy get in on the deal." No one will perish because Milwaukee stock ran out at their local HD and is sitting on the pickup area shelf, it isn't that serious.
1) Select store pickup for the item you don't wan't to keep (Store does not matter)
2) Ship or Select store pickup for the item you want to keep. (If doing store pickup for the item you are keeping make sure it is different than the store selected in step 1)
3) Wait 5 minutes after placing order (This is how long it takes for the order to show), but less than 45 minutes (After 45 min you can no longer cancel the order).
4) Go to you HD order history and cancel the portion you don't need.
5) Only get charged for the portion you kept, without having to return or wait for the pickup to expire.
You don't have to tie up inventory unnecessarily or create extra returns, that is a sure way to draw attention to the hack and have it corrected. You can select store pickup for any HD in the country, no need to ship to you home unless the item is discounted at specific stores (i.e. Store 1055 hack).
hope this helps someone who is unsure how the hack works.
If you're not going to pick up your order for whatever reason, then cancel it right away instead of letting it languish on the pick up shelves.
