You're SOL if you use the mobo with different RAM with higher speeds, IIRC

I picked up the 3080 deal last month. PC runs great. Only complaint for me is I can't seem to control the rgb on the gpu backplate. Just stuck on that annoying rainbow effect.

overall I would argue probably one of the best prebuilt out right now.
The videocard is made my MSI so I wonder if their software will be able to control the rgb.

Maybe unplug the rgb header if there's one?

Actually it isn't. You'll have more headaches upgrading this one.

Don't know what headaches your speaking of. Basically only main upgrade would be more ram. While your limited on what ram to use you can easily find compatible options.

Other than that if you want to do a major upgrade in a year or two it would just call for a new mother board nothing very hard about that.

I'm a noob to computers, so you're saying yo can upgrade to 32 GB of ram? And why would the motherboard be an issue in the future? I would appreciate any kind education on this topic

Wouldn't they make more money if they sold the PC directly rather than through newegg? I don't get it.
Not necessarily. If NE is eating the difference on the sales price, Lenovo might actually more money from wholesale price to NE than to match the sale to the consumer.

You can definitely add more ram if you choose to. Now is it necessary, No. Majority of games today won't use over 16GB of ram. A game like warzone will draw around 14ish max.

Only reason you would want to upgrade the motherboard in the future would be to open up way more options for better (higher quality) Ram, or to upgrade CPU.

I purchased this same setup but with the Rtx 3080 and 32Gb ram. I dropped in my 1tb m.2 with all my games and haven't looked back yet.

I won't lie and say I wasn't a little disappointed that I couldn't build my PC myself this year due to gpu demands but overall I'm happy with the Lenovo pre built.

Thanks for the response! I heard some tech youtubers say 32 GB is a no Brainerd upgrade for the cost but I hear that 16 is Sufficient aswell. I think im gonna pull the trigger and buy my first pc ever. Thanks for the response again
