you know, now that i'm actually doing the challenges and stuff.... i'm getting like $20-$30 a month in credit. Suddenly it doesn't seem like such a great idea to let my ultimate lapse and then wait for a sale...

I should have been doing this stuff all along

Now i just have to figure out what to do with these account credits before they expire on me.

I had previously done the deal where I had bought 2 years of Gold and then for $1 upgraded it to Game Pass Ultimate. That Game Pass Ultimate subscription ended. The day after it ended, I bought 3X of these NewEgg Gold Live yearly codes. I applied the 3 years of Gold to the Xbox account. Then, I paid $15 for one month of Game Pass Ultimate--and it upgraded all 3 years to Game Pass Ultimate. So, the answer is, yes, I had previously had Game Pass Ultimate, let it expire, bought the Gold codes, and was still able to upgrade Gold to Game Pass Ultimate (for $15).

newbie here, sorry If this is very basic. But I have not used ultimate before, so there is a promo for new subscribers - 1$ for first month. After adding the gold pass from new egg, if I add ultimate pass subscription for 1 month (paying 1$) and then cancel it right after, will it work ?

Or should it be a 1 month ultimate pass from GameStop or Amazon that I need to add.

Do this: Add up to 3 years of Xbox Live Gold using codes from Newegg or anywhere else. Then, add the Game Pass Ultimate Subscription for $1. DO NOT cancel the subscription right away. Leave it on there. You'll only be charged the $1 for the entire length of your subscription. So, if you add 3 years of Xbox Live Gold today, add the $1 Game Pass Ultimate Subscription, then it will say that it will renew at the regular monthly rate on August 5, 2024. If you want, just set up a reminder in your calendar for early August 2024 to turn off the auto-renew on the GamePass subscription.

If you grab this deal and get a few codes, how long can you hold onto them before redeeming. I don't think my ultimate expires till Dec or something.

I'm still looking for this answer. My ultimate expires in a year and a half. I did the 3 years last time.

Just for future knowledge, codes don't expire, however you do run the risk that it was a used code or that someone guesses it/steals it before you use it if you wait too long. I personally find that risk to be low.
