I just setup an example on a 32" QHD. It just so happens that when you create a custom resolution on that size using a resolution of 2560x1080 (what this deal is) the resulting image size is almost identical using the pythagorean theorem. Though I ended up with black bars on the top and botton, I was able to simulate. The result is 1.33 times the width of a 24" 1080p monitor. It is comfortable enough for MS Word and a web browser but not quite wide enough for Visual Studio and SQL Server Management Studio (I'm in IT). In the end, I picked up one as my first ultrawide because I wanted a 2nd smaller workstation for work on the main floor of my house (I am at home for good) and it is better than most 16x9 options (for split screen productivity) or a laptop screen, especially at the price.

the number of inches is irrelevant (insert mom/wife joke here) - the resolution and aspect ratio matters. this monitor is 2560x1080 and 21:9 - both fairly normal.

I mean maybe, but it's not 2017 anymore. Even then, most apps and games worked really well.

This size monitor is a great way of getting a few more pixels but not having to go to full 1440 height which is a dramatic increase in the amount of pixels to be rendered. Game performance will be much closer to 1080p than 1440p.

It even has speakers which is a plus in my book.

good deal...but 29 inch is an unusual width so you might have issues with scaling with games or other apps

Used one of these for 7-8 years, so mine is not freesync, good overall monitor and love the wider ratio for productivity work, but 1080p height is limiting - worth getting one of the larger models with at least 1440p height.

This size monitor works well paired with a 32" 1440p monitor, above or below.

Is this compatible with the Xbox series x? Would it looked stretched or have any black bars? I don't know if Xbox games are optimized for ultra wide gaming.

"Supports" HDR10? I've heard that one before. Does it display HDR10 or just accept the signal?
