I just returned an open box excellent the other day which should've been an OB fair at best (no box, no stands, no remote). Found out it was a display model with over 8000 hours of screen on time (never turned off in almost a year). TV is amazing and this is a good deal, but I couldn't justify an OLED with that much usage. So if you go the open box route, make sure to check the usage hours.
The only thing missing from this TV is HDMI 2.1, but if you want an OLED with excellent picture quality then you're in the right place.
Only wanting a 55" OLED for gaming right now.
No 2.1 is a dealbreaker

Yes... they had it available at this price for "in stock soon", but wasn't available for very long, and I removed from this thread's "Original Post".
Bummer. Thanks for the info.

Did you see any burn-ins? If you did, how bad was it? For a display model, one would expect to see some burn-ins, especially one with 8000 hours straight.
I didn't notice any burn-in but I didn't check too closely. The TV was still in demo mode when I turned it on so it probably cycled through that continuously. But at 8000 hours at full brightness, I just couldn't get myself to keep it (at $909).

The (SDR) image quality is really something else, I wouldn't hesitate for a second to buy a new one at $1200 if I hadn't bought something else already.

I've been waiting for the LG55BX or even CX and I guess they don't make a 55B1? Either way, this is a good price so I'm in! Replacing my old @ss 2010 LG 42LD550 lol the ports no longer work and keep turning the TV off and on. Motherboard has had enough.

Thanks OP

Older OLEDs I would say keep it under 1000 hours as that's when burn it starts to be apparent. Newer stuff has so much burn in protection that you'd be fine with 2500 hours most likely. The greater the difference between use and those numbers the better the deal.

I saw you can get a discount on Sony soundbars as well with the purchase - any of them decent enough that the 1-200$ is worth considering?

How does this deal compare with LG from Costco.

$1299. Minus the $100 streaming credit. Price is $1199. Comes with All state additional warranty.

LG is better overall, esp with HDMI 2.1. Also supports more video formats if you're doing local playback. I use the free edition of Plex; the TV supports basically every video format excepting the non standard 10 bit profile Anime likes to use. LG dropped DTS support, so I have Plex just transcode that, while the TV handles the video decoding and playback. It's a powerhouse in that regard.

Sony has better processing though, and if you don't need VRR and the gaming features of the LG (which are more important if you plan on getting a ps5 or xbox series x, or hooking it up to a gaming pc), it's not that different. The Sony video playback support is apparently much worse than the LG, though this might not matter to a lot of people. That or you can just hook it up to a pc, nvidia shield, etc.

A lot of what you said may be true of the better LG OLEDs, but your response is to a post/question about the lesser A1 OLED (60Hz, no HDMI 2.1).

I posted this in the other thread when this was on sale 2 weeks ago. Bought an open box excellent for $840. Had 3000 hrs logged but TV itself is in perfect condition and I didn't notice any burn in and no color issues (ran tests). Looks great in my eyes. I bought the BB warranty to be safe for the next 5 years.
