I just returned an open box excellent the other day which should've been an OB fair at best (no box, no stands, no remote). Found out it was a display model with over 8000 hours of screen on time (never turned off in almost a year). TV is amazing and this is a good deal, but I couldn't justify an OLED with that much usage. So if you go the open box route, make sure to check the usage hours.
The only thing missing from this TV is HDMI 2.1, but if you want an OLED with excellent picture quality then you're in the right place.
Only wanting a 55" OLED for gaming right now.
No 2.1 is a dealbreaker

Any reason to pass on this deal? I want a 55 inch oled and don't need it for gaming, just movies and tv. I don't feel like trying my luck on a refurb or a CX clearance opportunity. Costco by me has only had a few CXs lately and now the C1 is front and center. I'm thinking it will be a while before I see a better deal than this, prob gonna ponder this and order later today.
Buy it. I have a 65" Sony A9F. I only use it for movies with my Panasonic player and it's incredible. This is coming from an ex home theater associate from best buy lol.

What LG $100 promo?
Here you go

https://entertainment.lg-promos.c...ffer/en-US

Like I said you grab the c1 at Costco it's an automatic 2 year warranty, if you have their Citi card it's bumped to 4 years and currently it's also a 3 year allstate warranty (mixed reviews on that) for a total of 7 years. 2 Costco+ 3 allstate then last 2 Costco cc.

I have heard that you can return the $100 allstate as well but I haven't tried, the way the receipt is it's pretty clear it was a charge and then immediate $100 allstate credit so not sure they will return what was already essentially removed on the receipt, but may be worth a try if you go that route.

dealbreaker? what games will you be running 4k at 120hz?
Most of them, on the next gen consoles in 5 years.

How much more is an OLED with not just 2.1 but actually runs 4K 120Hz? Cause 2.1 doesn't guarantee that. Games will look amazing on this.

Did Amazon have stock at $1200 and quickly sell out? I'm not seeing any availability.

HDMI 2.1 allow much higher bandwidth, enough to run 4K 120Hz. Which the next gen consoles will struggle to render in most games. But it's probably why this is so cheap.

Yes... they had it available at this price for "in stock soon", but wasn't available for very long, and I removed from this thread's "Original Post".

How does this deal compare with LG from Costco.

$1299. Minus the $100 streaming credit. Price is $1199. Comes with All state additional warranty.

Then you shouldn't use google products like maps, gmail, browser, and much more. You shouldn't even use any electronic devices because they all will get your data one way or another. Hide under a rock would be safer because during this time almost everything you use collecting your data.
Well said! I just read this morning Apple was scanning your photos [cbsnews.com].

The A1 is much lower end in terms of the electronics. This is closer to the C series.

Open box fair comes with warranty? I see one near me for $720. Not sure if it is a good price.
I asked Sony customer service last week and they said they do NOT give any kind of warranty or support for Open Box TV's.

How does one check the usage hours?

Turn off the TV, then press Display, 5, Volume up, power. This pulls up the service menu, then select Self Diagnosis. It's the number on the bottom left (see here: https://imgur.com/a/zDxxYVv, not mine)
