I just returned an open box excellent the other day which should've been an OB fair at best (no box, no stands, no remote). Found out it was a display model with over 8000 hours of screen on time (never turned off in almost a year). TV is amazing and this is a good deal, but I couldn't justify an OLED with that much usage. So if you go the open box route, make sure to check the usage hours.

The only thing missing from this TV is HDMI 2.1, but if you want an OLED with excellent picture quality then you're in the right place.

Man, such a shame no 2.1. I was hoping it was just over looked in the tech descriptions. I use a computer on my TV, and 2.1 is a must have for my next TV. Hopefully, there will be some good deals on 120hz, 2.1 TV's over the holidays.

I'm holding out for close out deal on the LG CX and if I don't find a deal (since a lot of places are sold out or probably down to a few units left), I'll wait for this year's C1 model to drop. The lack of 2.1 on the Sony is what is preventing me from buying what is otherwise a great TV

Upsie covers burn-in whereas Allstate/Squaretrade does not, and IMO, that's the biggest concern with Sony and LG OLEDs, as they are made quite well. That being said, I personally have only had Upsie cell phone warranties, but have been rather satisfied with the claims process. The GF on the other hand has had Upsie TV Warranties and has once had to submit a claim with which see was very satisfied.

I went to BB the last time this was on sale on the hunt for a good open box unit. Was there for 45 minutes while they hunted it down to find out it had allegedly been attempted to be purchased that morning but was so damaged they ended up not selling.

Ended up buying it new and have it in my living room. It really is a beautiful tv. ❤️

Jetted the 1 hour drive to pick it up and it was a junker...no stand, remote, box, manuals...they admitted it was incorrectly categorized...fought the over an hour traffic home bummed...hour after I got home the store called me and told me tha tthe TV that I had bought was not actually in excellent shape, so did I still want it...lol...oh well..on to the next hunt!!!
