$10 is a small investment, and because it's digital.. they won't be able to lose the cartridge. If the game has good reviews, I'd probably just go with this. Kids don't need the newest stuff. I grew up on Sega Genesis, and much later got an N64 and a few games. Other games were gotten secondhand. I was just thrilled to play Sonic and other difficult games that requires mastering certain strategies to clear the area
Totally!! NES, SNES, and N64 I bought used a bit into their life. Bought GC right before the price drop. Only know that because the open button stuck and it was still under the Best But protection plan. I ended up taking it back for the full $150? and got a bigger TV on college. Haven't gotten my kids any games yet for any console. I just know what my backlog looks like and would justify this for me as a thing for them 😁
