Game Description:
- 5 years after their dangerous journey across the post-pandemic United States, Ellie and Joel have settled down in Jackson, Wyoming. Living amongst a thriving community of survivors has allowed them peace and stability, despite the constant threat of the infected and other, more desperate survivors. When a violent event disrupts that peace, Ellie embarks on a relentless journey to carry out justice and find closure. As she hunts those responsible one by one, she is confronted with the devastating physical and emotional repercussions of her actions.

I don't vehemently hate the second like the maniacs do, but I didn't enjoy the storyline at all. I guess as a result of that, I was dragging myself to get through it, which felt way, way too long. The cycle of gameplay really wore thin for me by the end.
I get what they were trying to do, but it just didn't work for me. YYMV

The Last of Us Part II holds the record for most Game of the Year awards, surpassing previous record holder The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt (2015).[106]"
I don't think you understand the definition of what a flop is.
In addition, I would have preferred that the chapters actually intersected them a bit more (play as Ellie, then Abby, and repea)t. Would have required some other story tweeks, but it took me a long time to really want to play as Abby for the majority of the second half.
Gameplay is fantastic though from top to bottom. Well worth $20 as it's a long game for sure, just wish the story was a bit tighter.
If it makes sense from a storyline perspective and it's not just inclusion for inclusions sake I'm OK with it.
I guess just like Nu God Of War this series is best left as a fond memory.

RE: Killing off characters. I thought the deaths were very realistic - they would happen suddenly in that world, as they did. Not drawing them out or making them grandiose just made it that much more real.
RE: Wokeness. I was waiting for lesbian and trans stuff to be shoved down my throat based on neckbeard rants, but none of that stuff really phased me at all, and I trend toward the middle FWIW.
Fantastic game for $20 (which was what I paid).
The plot and narrative are complete garbages.

The protagonist is lesbian? That was inferred from the first game DLC.
Or because there is an athletic female character? I guess that makes MMA and Olympics woke too
