Yes, saw that from the other thread, the RTX 3050 version of this laptop. Pretty positive review and the praised it's simplistic but sturdy design, performance, cooling, fan noise and thermals. Also, the display quality is very good for content creation.

but for this one (rtx3060 and 3k display) he runs games in 1080p to get any sensible framerates... damn. thought my search is over.

+ screen quality is good
+ 86Wh battery (5 to 7 hours on the different pc mark benchmarks)
+ after-sales service is relatively good (that one broke my heart - one must be really out of arguments to pull up something like that...)

- under high load performance is "relatively conservative"
- touchpad has mediocre feel
- something about disk upgrades being limited to 2230 size - didn't catch if the primary disk has the same limitation

looks like one m.2 is 2230 only and the other is 2230/2280

Believe I saw this at BestBuy or CostCo yesterday (or similar model). Build was indeed surprising considering how bad non xps or 7000 series are for dells consumer lines

Looks like a decent content creator machine with occasional gaming. Definitely get this 3060 version over the 3050. CPU performs nicely vs a Ryzen 5800H albeit at the cost of much higher temps, battery drain and power. Plugged in you should have no problems.

Seems pretty decent for a professional photo/video editing machine where high gpu wattage is not always a must but NV encoder/decoder is!

I only need to charge through it while out and about (so I don't have to risk losing or breaking the charger), I'd only use TB at my desk so that's fine. Thanks for answering - I missed that bit there (stopped reading when I saw the separate power port - doh!).
