What if I grabbed this for the battery and sold the tool, so when a deal comes for the impact/driver kit I'd have an extra battery.

I was really wondering what is the power/torque difference between fuel and non fuel.
Would someone be happy building a large deck with a non fuel impact driver?

but you can go on milwaukees website and compare them

BTW, in case you weren't aware, Milwaukee silently released a new version of the Gen 3 Impact (which is jokingly called the "Gen 3.5"). To my knowledge, the only difference between the Gen 3 and Gen 3.5 is a re-design of the driver's collet (single ball to double ball with heavier gauge retention spring). Both the Gen 2 and 3 both suffered from poorly designed collets (bits coming out of the collet when under pull stress). You can see the Gen 3.5 vs. the Gen 3 tested in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6jvjs2G
Unfortunately both models go by the same catalog number (2853-20) so you'll need to go by the manufacturing date if you want to try and purchase a "Gen 3.5" for this impact driver (which I believe the redesign Gen 3.5 models start with the beginning of 2021).
