My 6-year-old, a LEGO maniac and huge Mario fan, was suprisingly not that into the Mario Legos. He got a couple sets gifted to him at Christmas, and barely played with them. When we asked why he didn't really like it, it's because the sets themselves are super basic and not all that fun to put together.

Yeah, and it seems like the game aspect isn't that interesting either. There isn't a challenge, you just move to the different things and it plays a sound/screen image to go with it.
Are Mario and Luigi the only "good guy" characters that have the built-in electronics (i.e. "interactive")? I know they aren't included, just trying to understand the sets.
