I only tried the TP-link and Orbi - and the Orbi is better.. at least you can control everything 100% in the web ui... even though the UI looks like it was designed in the late 90's. Seriously, the Microsoft Router, for those that remember it, had a better UI.
#1 thing I love about the Orbi, is that it advertises itself as the DNS server, and does lookups against whatever your upstream DNS is. In my case, this means that the guest network also has the benefit of going through my piHole, which is on the internal network.
Full local control, and ability to use piHole on guest network are VERY hard to find on any other mesh system.
The TP-Link doesn't even have a true guest system - it's just a second broadcast with a different password, and it has full access to the LAN. At least on the Deco-9 series there was no way to control it.
Not even worth $150 IMO. Only 1 USB port and 4 WANs??? Also slowass NAS performance. Power users with servers, NAS, etc just STAY AWAY from this pile of crap!

I just want fast seamless internet.
Can the orbi do greater than 400mbps?
Is orbi tri band?
Firmware updates are always hit and miss which is the biggest thing; they need to do a better job at QAing before release. On my first set, one of the satellites just literally died on firmware update and won't start up (Thanks for the return policy, Costco!). I would recommend turning off auto update and search the forums before updating anything (or don't fix it if it ain't broke).
The set I'm running on has been pretty solid, but I have had to reboot the group probably once every 3 months or so which isn't that bad.
Sometimes the Orbi app doesn't find the system for some reasons so I have to try a few times before I can get in and reconfigure something; the web UI works flawlessly though.

Even the other $150 Costco deal will be just fine, unless you absolutely need the third band.
