I'm wondering how Samsung is calculating our taxes. If your subtotal is $871.24 and you pay $78, that is just around 8% in taxes. But my subtotal is $825 and I'm paying like $147 in taxes or 17% which is totally nuts.

got the fold 3 256gb with a pixel 3 xl trade in ($150).

30% PAW should get me from $1526.24 - 30% to $1,068. Considering the fold 2 trade in value this year which is $900, I can trade in next year for fold 4 also at $900.

I have had a Note since the beginning and have a Note 20 Ultra now. Very disappointed with Samsung's new replacement for the Note. I can't see buying a $1700 phone that is heavier, thicker, has a small battery, inferior cameras, no external sd card, and a separate pen you have to pay for. $700 for a bigger screen and fewer features is a big no thank you for me.

With S21 trade my order was $1050.

The only things that bother me are the no sd card & pen not integrated.

When I bought my Notes' I wanted the largest screen I could get, a pen & a great ecosystem; which Samsung did that for me. I expect heavy and thick when I purchase these types of phones. The battery hopefully is up to the task.

Really disappointed about the S-Pen integration, but maybe the case will be a good thing?

Agreed. However, For People upgrading every year with trade in with Samsung, the calculation is roughly OK. The market value is no longer that relevant. It is like paying samsung $299 before tax to lease the phone for one year. The leasing price for next year will be variable here.

Doubt many are upgrading unless they want a foldable specifically. The processor and camera are just minor upgrades to justify another 1000.
