Be sure to format and do a clean windows install because the bloatware nearly bricked my 8940

Click 'Start > Settings > Update & security > Recovery' and then choose 'Get started' under 'Reset this PC'. A full reinstall wipes your entire drive, so select 'Remove everything' to ensure a clean reinstall is performed.

It's great it means more stock for the rest of us who know the limitations and where it doesn't matter.
I actually have this system back In 10th gen spec and with a 1650 super bought back in March. $450 was a steal of a deal

tempting... main thing holding me back is the 360W PSU and inability to just swap in a standard PSU to replace it. Stick Out Tongue
Other than upgrading another stick of memory, I don't see ever upgrading this as a decent PSU is 20% of the cost of the whole system! It's a budget right with good specs for the price. If you need more than this, don't get this.

Finally got in on this deal. I have a RX480 8gb card in my current machine, should I sell that or should I sell the 1660? I am going to go do my own research but I'd like to hear others options as well.
If your not interested in mining, sell the RX 480, benchmarks for gaming look hire for the 1660 for gaming. Myself I mine so the 480 would go in a rig all day long.

Benchmarks Ref: https://gpu.userbenchmark.com/Com...4056vs3634

Of course this all depends on the exact card you have and build quality, I just did a fast search.

Agreed! May also want to add a secondary hard drive for more storage.

AMA, will try to answer them.

Bought the 2060 version back in March. I am a casual gamer, most of it is Warzone, Stadia and some battlefield. Playing on an ultrawide 3440 x 1440 screen, games are >60fps. Bought this mostly for work (photo editing) and it works great for that.
Did that version also have only 8GB RAM? Does that not cause any problems with having say a bunch of Chrome tabs open while working on something like editing? I'm assuming with the ultrawide monitor, snapping browsers to split the screen still probably provides adequate screen space to work and browse.

So i would pass on this and look for a deal with a 500watt psu aka the dell xps 8940. That way you can atleast upgrade your graphics cards to the dell 3070 if you wanted to in the future. If you plan on using this foe general computer use, this is an excellent price

My XPS 8940's onboard sound does work, Dell support is shit and when I use the USB adapter my headset came with, I sound like shit (more than I normally do). Other than that, I don't have any complaints. For me it wasn't enough to deal with sending it back but for some it may be.

Thanks for the reply. I actually don't really game or mine, but I like the idea that I could game if I wanted too.

The RX480 I have is same as the one pictured in your link XFX with the single fan.

EDIT: Not that anyone really cares but in watching several of the videos posted I realized the 1660S that is in this machine has one HDMI and one DP. That pretty much decided it for me to sell the 1660 and keep rocking with the RX480 for a while longer.

Just bought this. What is the best way to add 8 more gigs? Get a stick from Dell or get a full kit when something good shows up here?

I've been out of the game for awhile, is there a good walkthough for the clean install? I don't want to deal with all dell's crap.
Click 'Start > Settings > Update & security > Recovery' and then choose 'Get started' under 'Reset this PC'. A full reinstall wipes your entire drive, so select 'Remove everything' to ensure a clean reinstall is performed.
