I've been using these since 2014. Maybe once or twice a week and wash in dishwasher. I run them over a cheap sharpener occasionally. They're holding up great. Unlike some users, I haven't experienced and chipping of the coating. I wouldn't use knives that left that in my food. Lol. I've also given them as cheap gifts.

I've had these, and the paint did indeed chip. I got another set where only the covers and handles are colored, but not the blade themselves, and I think you would all be better served getting knives without paint on them.

FYI this color-coded knife-throwing accuracy measurement kit can also be used to slice produce and other foods in a pinch.

I have this set. Not the greatest. Doesn't hold a sharpening well. I would invest in something better with better weight

Has the color part been chipping off? Whenever I buy ones that colored like this or have a design they always peel off and I worry about it getting in the food

Nope. It only comes off right along the edge if I sharpen them. You're removing a tiny bit of metal when you sharpen, and since the coating is on the metal, you're also removing a tiny bit of that too. Since there's a microscopic amount of loose metal along the edge from sharpening, I always put them (and all my knives I sharpen) under running water and then run the edge against a towel to get any tiny debris off 👍🏼 I've never seen paint on any food. If I did, I wouldn't be using these knives. Lol.

I have this set and use it for my meat and cheese tray prep. I don't use it everyday. But, I have owned my set for every year and it's still has an edge. These knives are $2 a piece. People expect the performance of a knife that is $100 a piece.

I haven't experienced any issues with the coating but I use them infrequently and hand wash only.

I ordered a set for camping a few months ago for $10 during prime day. They are really sharp. Works well and no chips so far. Naturally, we've only hand washed them.
