Yes and no. The PB1000 (non pro) is a 10" sub. The RSL Speedwoofer 10S is also a 10" woofer. There's quite a few high performance "small" subs. You don't NEED a 12" woofer and going just on the woofer size alone isn't a good idea either. I agree though, a single better sub could be better here as long as it's placed correctly.
Adorama ended up shipping my speakers without the Onkyo receiver. I should get them tomorrow! I ended up buying a Denon receiver from Costco to test them out and make sure everything is working, then return the receiver afterwards. Also if you purchase the VIP360, it increases the return to 60 days and free returns on shipping, so the 49.99 was worth it IMO

I got my tracking numbers for the speakers so they were shipped out. Thanks for the idea on the receiver I may do that as well.

Of course! I assume the chip shortage is impacting receiver manufacturers which means we may have to wait a while to get this receiver. If it takes longer than 30-45 days, I will just ask for a credit from Adorama and try to look else where for a similar option.

Adorama's shipping is super fast! I got my speakers in yesterday. I found a receiver I'm probably gonna get and stay with. I'll see about cancelling the back ordered Onkyo. I still need a few things to get this system up and running but I can't wait til it is. So excited I finally got some Klipsch speakers. At some point I'd like to get the 502s. I'm looking into different subs as well something a little bigger so I may likely sell the ones that came in the kit. But definitely happy with this purchase.

Yea I got my shipment the other day and unfortunately had 1 of the 8000s damaged so I need to get it replaced. I'm excited to start using this once everything is setup. The 502s are awesome and would be a great setup addition. Try out the 2 10'' sub setup because with the right placement and depending on the size of your room, they could compliment very well.

That sucks man. I'm guessing physical damage? I was a little worried as a couple of the speaker boxes were punctured. I took the speakers out and there's no physical damage to them. I won't know about sound until I get a receiver. Give Adorama a call I'm sure they'll take care of you.

Yea there was quite a bit of physical damage to one of the 8000 but it works perfectly fine after testing it. After speaking to adorama they literally said they would offer me 40 bucks in credit if I wanted to keep the speaker and not ship it back, even with all the damage to it. Pretty ridiculous IMO so I told them I would just ship it back and get a replacement. So taking care of that now!

I'm interested in the Onkyo TX-NR797 received but don't need the speakers - if anyone looking to sell just the receiver for local pickup in northern CA area (no ship).
I went for this. I already had the RP-504C for a while, which I'd been happy with, and figured the RP-8000F would be a good complement and upgrade to my HT, but I'd missed the big sale on them a few months ago. At this price, even though I'd end up with an extra center, and possibly a couple subs I didn't love, this was the price to beat. Plus i need a new receiver and there's nothing available today that I'm dying for, so…pulled the trigger. Except for the receiver, it shipped within 2-3 business days and arrived much faster than I expected via UPS ground. Some of the boxes were a little beat, especially the 8000, but the merch is flawless. The 600m are larger than I expected and have no mounting mechanism, which I should have been prepared for. That's ok, I can use stands for now, until i work something out. The subs actually deliver very well, I'm happy with them. The 8000, so far, sound great. This is all paired with an Epson 5050. I'm dying to get the receiver so I can actually dial the system in and get some real testing in, but again, for the price, this is a great deal. I'll unload the second center for at least what i paid for it, I'm sure, and probably be happy with the rest for some time to come. Hoping the ONKYO arrives in mid-November, but that feels forever away. Grrrr
People that downplay 10in subs are the same people that try to cram eight 15in subs in their shitbox car and think it sounds great!
10inch subs can be great. For a nice 10inch sub, I recommend the monolith 10. I feel like these 10inch subwoofers are undersized for the rest of the system though. I have a similar Klipsch setup with rp8000fa towers, so I know these towers can fill large rooms (28ft x 21ft) easily. The problem is, these 10inch sub in this situation would be the weak link. In my setup, I have two HSU vtf3.5.
For smaller rooms, a 10inch would be fine, but if you have a smaller room, the rest of this system is a bit overkill.
Talked to Adorama, bought just the receiver and two sound towers for 1050 + Taxes. (I live in an apartment, so the dual subs, bookshelves and center channel speaker make no sense at this time). Planning to buy a SPL-120 sub-woofer later.

Good chance these might be sitting in the cargo ships on the west coast.
