I suggest checking your local FB marketplace, etc before buying a "cheap" big box store bike. You can often find a much better bike, in good condition, for $100 or so. Don't be put off by the asking price. Most ppl will take 1/2 price if you have cash and ready to buy immediately.

What? Low balled them? Just be nice. You just say "please don't be offended but "X" is all I can afford." Some people just want it gone from their garage, etc and want a quick sale. The best situation is when u can both meet in the middle. Some sellers have no idea what the item is really worth. When I sell something and someone sends a ridiculously low offer, I just don't respond.
