I have worked in the glass tinting industry which relies on quality of paper towels for 20 years.
The Bounty brand definitely soaks up more liquid than any other brand I have found and I believe I have tried them all. Bounty also has less lint that distributes into the air or on surfaces when using it. A big tip for less lint on glass surfaces is use a fresh dry paper towel as your last wipe or use a squegee if you want zero lint.
I use Bounty exclusively for work but at home I use the best deal on name brand or store brand since I use a towel if I have a significant liquid spill at home.
Brawny, Walmart, Aldi, Target and Costco are pretty tough when wet and do a decent job absorbing moisture.
If absorption per sheet or lint are not one of your biggest concerns then other brands do just fine. If you want the best then Bounty is the winner.
My two pennies.
