$16.88 is regular Walmart price for 48qt Igloo or Rubbermaid cooler. Thank being said it is much cheaper than anywhere else. As someone mentioned, elsewhere they run around $30. I have never been able to beat Walmart price on these even when buying a full truckload from manufacturer.
Point is, if you don't need it now you can always buy at another time for the same price.

Bonus side note - These are the perfect size if you need a cooler as a check in bag with airlines.
igloo quality has gone down the shitter a while ago though. especially their lid hinges are a joke on these
It better be since this cooler is less then the sales tax you'd pay for a yeti cooler.

Interesting comment about check in size, but does it latch closed somehow? I can easily see the gorilla bag handlers tossing this on a conveyor and the cooler tipping over on its side.
I travel, before COVID, back and forth between South Pacific islands. I use this coolers to bring fresh fish home with me. Fish goes in a heavy plastic bag. Bag goes in cooler. Put cooler in another bag and tape it up. Never failed.

Maybe it works with dry ice but I got this thing last time around it doesn't keep stuff cold for longer than half a day if you're in and out of it more than twice.
Anyone have comments on their personal experience with reusable ice blocks? Reading reviews on various sites everything from the Igloo to Yeti branded ice blocks has a ton of reviews "started leaking after only a few freeze cycles". It sucks when you can't find a good quality product in any brand or price point. Our main use for big coolers is a run to price clubs which are far enough away that we don't go there very often and buy a whole bunch... and want to be able to go to other places on the way home, so we don't need to do the whole 'fill it with ice let it cool down then drain and top off with more ice so it's as cold as possible' thing. I just want to toss the assortment of ice packs made with bag plastic that make the freezer all uneven so anything you put on top of them falls over and leak if they thaw out too much. But from what I've seen on ice block reviews they're not much better...

I bought bunch of these for $3 earlier in the year and none have leaked on me. I toss them in my chest freezer a couple days before a trip rather than leave them in freezer all the time. Cheap enough that I don't really care if they leak
They also have smaller ones in store for $1 if you can find them.
Another cheaper option is just throw some bottled water in the freezer a couple days before your trip and reuse them as needed. I have done that with poland spring 16oz for years and never had any of those leak on me.

We have the smaller ones and end up having to replace them because they start leaking, though luckily it's usually between 6 months to 2 years (we have some ancient clear ones about the same size that are still fine after unknown time). I know it's non-toxic but it's annoying when you find something not fully sealed (like carrots) sank to the bottom of the cooler and is swimming in freeze gel slime. I guess the real answer is to put them in freezer bags while in the cooler no matter what brand you get.
A cooler is something you buy once. So buy a good one. Having multiple crappy ones is a waste of money. These pos coolers cannot hold ice.
To each their own. I have used these for multiple years and it holds ice for 3-4 days easily if you pack it properly (with pre-chilled items and enough ice). No complaints, perfect for my personal needs. I would personally never get a $200-300 yeti. Their performance is marginally better than a $40-60 Coleman Xtreme (~1 day). And a Coleman Xtreme performance is marginally better than this igloo (~1 day). Air is an okay insulator. Foam is a better insulator. Foam with lid gaskets are even better. But if i were using a cooler everyday, needed true performance, and money was no object, I would just go for a Massimo 12v refrigerated cooler for $300-400 and save time/money/hassle of dealing with ice/water on a weekly basis. And while I may never get a yeti, I can see why some people might need one. That is why all of these options exist, different strokes for different folks.
I took my kids on a two week camping trip. Flew in to starting point so I had to buy some cheap gear that I would end up throwing out or giving away before my return flight. This cooler seems like a good item for that use. Temporary use with the intent of throwing out when done.

Drill a hole in it. Drain. Put some bleach water in it. Drain. Plug it with some E6000 or a glue gun.
Mine held ice for 2 days. Was in Oregon and California.

Same price but quality feels much better than the OP one.
