Randomly found this when I googled something related to Google Home Minis. It's the 1st gen but still a very good device. Before people chime in with how they get these for free all the time, maybe just don't unless you feel like sharing a link where you can get them for free right now.
Color options at this price include:
- Chalk
- Charcoal *NO LONGER AVAILABLE*
Order 4 or more for free shipping QA Note: Seems to be OOS for shipping, so store pickup only now

For those that like to tinker and are looking at getting more out of these devices, you can easily mod them to bypass the built in speaker and power a passive, external speaker. I have an abundance of sound equipment and not all of it is being used in my home theater. Since I tried this mod with a high end Klipsch bookshelf speaker and an old Google Home Mini, I've been BLOWN AWAY at how good these can be. I'm now in the process of going through a lot of my Google Home and Google Nest Minis and setting them up with bookshelf speakers around the house as a huge upgrade to my speaker groups.

Yes, that's all well and good if you are on the Amazon Alexa platform. Some of us prefer the Google Assistant which is why I posted this method for upgrading a Google Assistant speaker
Yeah, I get itSmilie I run both Google and Echo smart speakers in my house. The Echos stream all my music to my home audio systems and the Google devices answer all my stupid questions. They both control all my smart plugs and bulbs. I really wish Google would get with the program and add 3.5mm ports to their smart speakers cuz I could then get rid of all my Echos.

Nice Google Mini hack but I much prefer the 3.5mm port on the Echo Dots to a powered set of speakers. Even a set of decent computer speakers or old sound bar sound better then most smart speakers out there. 3.5 to a mini amp is another option if ya wanna use passive speakers.

Shipping is $5.99, unfortunately. I could use a couple, but I'm not paying for shipping.

Agreed. Unfortunately, I think they will continue to avoid adding the 3.5mm, strategically, so they can market their better model Google devices at higher prices. Want better sound, usually have to spend up. I think that was probably their justification in killing off the Chromecast audio too. Unfortunate because you are exactly right. It is a big convenience to users that prefer better sound. I'm thrilled that I've finally gotten around to using this mod so I can upgrade all of the speakers and only worry about a single power socket.

Thanks but I would be really surprised to learn that any B&M stores had any of these 1st gen models in stock. These are more than likely inventory leftovers that are found in Lowe's distribution warehouses from time to time which has resulted in these sporadic deals at this price over the last year or two from Lowe's.

I snagged a few of the Chromecast audio when they were getting cleared out a while back for this exact reason, they sync up awesome throughout the house on different audio systems.

Was it just coincidence or is the link you added bad.
The link to me to a broken (none youtube.com) location.
Shortly after clicking the supplied link I had to reinstall my security software.

Note the youtu.be in the link.

Must be coincidence since I can't imagine why anyone would deliberately add a broken link. I just clicked on it again and it opened the YouTube video. The link was taken directly from the, "share" option on the YouTube page. Not sure why it isn't working for you
