The thing is, even though Kobalt was competitive for performance and power with DW and Milwaukee at the time, you'd never see any pros using them other than maybe a guy starting out, or someone transitioning careers. And today, the shop I work in, I see tons of Milwaukee, some Dewalt, and even a guy running some Makita; but no Kobalt, no Ridgid.
So, if you want a decent drill-driver and impact driver combo that will last you a couple o years, it's probably a good buy for around the house or starting out in a professional trade
Corded, brushed, Brushless, higher end Dewalt Xtreme or Milwaukee Fuel (12 or 18 volt platform).
You get a 5 year warranty (Kobaltpower tool), 3 year limit warranty (Kobaltbattery), and 5 year warranty witb Milwaukee.
I mostly use my M12 Fuel tools or Dewalt Xtreme 12 volt and certain Kobalt based on performance and preferences. I do have this kit but it is a little heavier and bulky.
The drill, 2Ah battery, and charger were $90 for Father's day so you are paying $59 for the impact driver and metal tool storage shelf.

Speaking of brands, I don't see any high end professionals using Dewalt.. It's all either festool, Bosch, or makita. Milwaukee for plumbing is standard
Most of the tools came from the same factory, look at the handheld blowers from Dewalt and kobalt, exactly the same and have the same power. I own the kobalt line for home use and used it against Dewalt, color is the only difference. Comparing brands who are basically the same really doesn't do anything.
Also ryobi has the best cordless nailers by miles, and pex crimpers while some of their items are garbage, several are not.
