I was going to pull the trigger on this when I read this on slickdeals about Anker flash lights being poorly made.
I wish people would post more recommendations about which ones are better.

I REALLY don't understand the frequency of Anker flashlights on SD.
http://flashlights.parametrek.com/index.html - not totally comprehensive but a searchable, filtered database of lights with near-consensus positive reputation in the enthusiast community. If you want more resources go to BLF or /r/flashlight. Those same resources have numerous reviews and horror stories for Anker lights and in-depth reviews of just how poorly they're actually made and perform.
Please don't throw your money away on these things.
Thank you for posting this, I just bought my third! This is my go-to flashlight and the one my family always uses. I bought one of these LC130's for $36 on sale last year in March 2020 and another on sale in April. It is a great light: bright, solid, usb charging, tailcap switching, and the 26650 battery lasts longer than any other flashlight I have. It has that solid feel of the old Maglites in a much smaller package.

I completely disagree with the person you quoted. I have several and love them. They are solidly made and bright. I prefer the ones (like the LC90) that are zoomsble

Nice deal. I've been using Anker flashlights for years with zero issues. I have a couple each of the LC90, 40, 30 & P2 and use them for work, keep in toolboxes & glove boxes. May need to buy the LC130 now as I've never seen it much cheaper than the normal $60 price.

Me too! I own 3 different Anker flashlights including this one. Never any problems with any of them and love them all!

I have been buying sofirn for several years now and havn't been let down yet. The sc31pro is incredible compared to this one. Buy it on sofirn's website for less than Amazon if shipping time isnt and issue. Join their facebook group and ask for a discount code to any flashlight anytime. They are very responsive to service too.
Anker lights are solidly built and bulletproof. I have well over a dozen bought over the years and the only one that ever failed was the UV light, and they replaced that in warranty. Anyone dissing them has an agenda.

I'm curious, why have you purchased over a dozen flashlights? Were they gifts?
Have a few Anker flashlights and they all work great. But probably will not go for this one. Like someone mentioned it does not look like it has zoom/focusing.

I've purchased three Sofrin flashlights and all but one has failed. Their weak point is a fragile side activation button that is easily broken. It is also much less convenient to use than a tail cap switch and is easier to turn on by mistake.
The one Anker LC40, two LC90's, and two LC130's I have are all still going strong, some after years of hard use. They are just built better.
I will add that I purchased all of them using SD or Lightning deals and I have never received any remuneration from the company.

Going to rock that sofrin rep all day as long as anker clings to micro USB... 👀
The original anti-Anker quote has this line: "If you want more resources go to BLF or /r/flashlight. Those same resources have numerous reviews and horror stories for Anker lights and in-depth reviews of just how poorly they're actually made and perform."
Either BLF and /r/flashlight are good sources of info or they are not. If they are good sources then what do they recommend instead of Anker?

Sofirn is a much better option.

And more importantly, is this a list of only their "recommended" flash lights:
