I realize a USB-C Kindle would be nice, and having everything in the house being USB-C would be nice...but for a device that only needs charging once every month or two, is it really that much an inconvenience?

What would be the benefit? 2.4 GHz is already extreme overkill in terms of speed for downloading books. Or are you expecting the next generation Kindle readers to support streaming video?

Certainly a good deal if you can't wait. I picked up another one (during Prime Day) for my 9yo daughter who loves to read. USB-C would have been nice, but not a deal breaker. I am still rocking my Kindle Keyboard. Will probably upgrade w/ a trade-in once a USB-C version drops though.

I think BB has the same offer. Switching from a Kindle Voyage, do you guys think it's that big of an upgrade? I don't really need the waterproof feature but I believe the screen is bigger and I have to charge my batter every month now (I know, not that big of a deal). Other than that though, any other reason I should upgrade?

For me personally, it's nice to be able to take just one charger when traveling. Phone, headphones, tablet all use the same usb-c charger.

Kinda makes sense - chargers, cables, PC connectors all moved to USB-C, so it doesn't make sense to buy any new device that will bring in some going away style connector.
Saying that, I almost never use my ereader, I usually just read on the tablet. Especially when flying - I prefer to bring one tablet, instead of multiple devices. In that regards, it is probably smarter to just save up and buy an iPad mini.
