I may order another CM500 for this price. I'll make my current CM500 the backup unit and make this one the in use one to make sure it works during the 90 day warranty. Equipment does die. One of my Roku units recently started have HDMI output issues and after that my very old and reliable Asus router died. I had spares for both.
I really hate to spend $100 for a better cable modem that supports speeds I am unlikely to ever want to pay more for and that with one lightening strike or bad brown out could be destroyed. A recent brown out appears to have induced flickering in two LED ceiling lights in my kitchen. I buy Home Depot's store brand LEDs when I can for their 3 year in store swap out warranty. This will be the 3rd time I replaced one of them for no extra charge.
I suspect that trying to get Comcast to allow me to swap back my Ubee may not be possible. Since no Ubee is in their supported list I could not say it was a supported Ubee model. I wonder if I could say any supported model since it did have whatever provisioning in it that Comcast last provided.
I used a Zoom 5341J modem when it was on the approved list but now it is no longer on the list but my modem still works with Xfinity.
Comcast also has an approved list, you can't just use any modem.

Swapped back to my old Linksys and no issues. Too bad because I was able to utilize the 400mbps connection but can't rely on it.
Anyone else having issues? Maybe I got a bad one? I guess it was returned for a reason...
FOR NEW ACCOUNTS Comcast no longer supports Motorola SB6121 (DOCSIS 3.0, 4x4, capable of up to 343Mbps). And for that reason on ebay it goes for about $10 shipped.
MY OPINION, if your company provides a free modem, get it..... why? if you live ina place with frequent storms, your $hit is probably gonna get hit soon enough. IF YOU OWN IT? money out of your pocket to replace it, IF the company owns it, Go to the nearest store and get a replacement AT NO CHARGE.
And to be honest 9 of 10 times most of you guys call customer service for wifi coverage.... the speed is guaranteed to the wire(lan), not over wifi, if the tech that went to your home to do the installation is a TRASH tech, you will NEVER get the speeds you pay for.
Now...if you get a good tech, and hes getting the speeds at the modem consistently, now it all depends now how you are distributing wifi over the home. If people expect to get FULL SPEEDS using the company equipment and you have a big house....surprise surprise, the wifi will not cover enough to give you the 2k speeds your expecting.
A lot of details are to be considered when internet is being talked about. The most important one is always going to be placement.
Good day my people
