i got the 11in and the 11in never drops below 150. lame
Being ignorant doesn't have to show how stupid you are. If you use one at a daily basis you will know how much it's worth. Not $300 for sure, but definitely $99
What can you expect when apple prices these keyboard cases at prices they had no business being in the first place.

I used this for several months and began peeling all over the place. Got apple to replace it free under warranty. Grabbed an open box Magic Keyboard for $175 and it is AMAZING. HUGE difference. Never going back. Gonna sell my new replaced Smart Keyboard on FB or OfferUp.

It's worth what one is willing to pay. I think it's worth $300.
Ordered a Like New one from VIPOutlet on Wednesday. Delivered today. No exterior original packaging but everything else (including docs) was there. Keyboard is in perfect shape.
If you don't need the trackpad and don't mind the slightly lower quality keys and no backlight, this is a good buy.
What's the Apple Warranty status on this? I know VIP Outlet provides a 90 day Warranty, but just wondering if you checked on the Apple website what the manufacturer's warranty situation is.
Lol I keep thinking at first glance of the thumbnail that this is a good Chromebook deal, but then I read "Apple" and it's another keyboard! Brainless consumerist sheep in these threads.

I bought it for 125 this month from Target by chatting with them. I tried to price match it to 99 from a third party seller on Newegg. They couldn't because it wasn't sold by Newegg. I told them I'd buy it for the 129 price they had during the holidays. The agent said they could match it and they took off 54.
I've used both the Folio (this) and the new Magic Keyboard (got on sale for $150) on my 11" iPad Pro, and while the Folio was OK, I absolutely *love* the Magic Keyboard. It is slightly heavier, but works so much better as a keyboard (with a trackpad!), that I honestly couldn't recommend the Folio anymore. If you can find the MK on sale, I think it's absolutely worth the extra $50 over this.

I had originally purchased a MK but ended up returning it—it weight more than the iPad itself (about twice the Smart Keyboard) and makes it impossible to use the device in portrait mode or to lay it flat to use the Apple Pencil. I can see why some people might prefer it, but it's far from being the ideal solution for everyone.

Totally fair, and that's a good point about the Folio allowing for using the iPad like a notebook for writing (by folding flat). I mostly use my iPad as a laptop replacement, but I do have an Apple Pencil for doodling, but I hadn't thought about that limitation. I guess for me I'd just take it off the MK to use it in portrait mode. The folio can't really be used in portrait mode either (i.e., standing up on its own), but folding it back allows you to keep the Folio on while still using in portrait.
Also, good point about weight--the MK is definitely heavier than the Folio, but the added functionality (better keys, backlit, trackpad, more stability, more flexible viewing angles) for me was worth the weight. Not so for everyone.

Information for the model number is incorrect that's for the fourth gen the fifth gen model number is MJQK3LL/A.
The Smart Keyboard and Magic Keyboard are 2 different items.
This listing is for the much lower priced Smart Keyboard.
The Magic Keyboard for the 12.9 is down to $ 199 at many sellers.
I paid $ 245 for the 11 inch, and worth every penny.
