The Kohler is more powerful and has a 3 year warranty where the HF engine has only a 90 day warranty (2 years for emissions control system). I'd go with the Kohler.

Would this be a good replacement for an old 5 hp tiller motor?

What would I need to check to see if I could swap them out?

Or should I just get a new tiller that's rear tine and not front tine?

Edit: Probably too big. Would be a beast to handle front tine. 😅

Hmm…definitely "select stores", the one near me has it for $499. Take advantage for those who can: if you never find the time to make a project out of it, you'll always make your money back if the wife wants it gone.
Can we request a price match from the "selected" TS stores that has this deal vs the other TS stores who don't?

Dang I might look into this. It's 139 local to me and I'm sure is way better than the HF equivalent

Just picked mine up for 139, 150.14 after tax. I prefer this over the harbor freight predator motors. I have a kohler in my cub cadet mower that has been great for years. At this price it's worth it to have around for a project or sell if you don't end up finding a use for it.

Just bought two. Have to drive an hour each way to get them but my math says that 2 hours saved me $750. I feel like I'm finally getting paid what I'm worth.

Which 'mud motor' kit do you have and do you like it or recommend something else? Thanks for any info.
