Really good price and a potential price mistake? I think the lowest price it's ever been is more around $180 for this model. Searching SD brings up one for $140ish someone posted previously but it looks like commenters couldn't replicate it. Adding that my parents use the Portal TV because they find it super simple to use and to video chat with my 3 year old niece since they're a state apart from one another.

In for two for Christmas gifts. I hope they don't discontinue or release a new version this year.

This isn't a price mistake, they've been selling for $150-$175, I guess up until recently, so the msrp isn't really accurate. And there is a limit of 2. It's at the end of it's life cycle, and worst portal didn't really take off, especially during covid. It's an obvious clearance. But I swear this has happened like 5 out of the 7 times I've experienced similar postings. Someone says price mistake, when it doesn't seem like a price mistake. Next thing you know it's canceled. Don't know what the deal is but I get the odd sense that some retailers have learned to collect data on slickdealers for pricing sales. Just saying, happened last month with the surface pro phone.

At $99 seems like a great video call device. That's what I got them for.

I am not seeing the plus version going for those prices other than used on Ebay.

Anyone with experience just using these as a tablet/media device (not video calling)?

Can't use without a Facebook account? The following camera is really slow and it has to remain plugged in to work!

Retailers dropped it 179.99 most of summer, it seemed like that was the new MSRP. Been hoping they would drop it further. It was only raised I guess above $200 last week. It's not a price mistake. Amazon doesn't pull stuff like that so I doubt it will be canceled. But labeling it a price mistake, from a mod, sketches me out about due to recent experiences.

They are likely coming out with a new model, or possibly even phasing the portal devices out. I think Covid proved that people are going to use their phones or full on operating systems for important phone calls; or the TV version of this portal. If this gets Alexa Drop In then that changes things, but that was heavily requested in 2018 so I'll doubt it will happen. Especially considering Echo is kind of a competitor in the space. They did allow LG to get Alexa drop in on their tablet/show, more than year after its request and just about at the end of its life cycle but by then it was clear that those were not going to compete with the show

For WhatsApp calling does it allow login to this device besides cell phone or you have to logout from cell phone to be able to use WhatsApp from this device?

I have one and not particularly happy with it. Sound is decent. All software goes through Facebook, and there's not much software. Video is decent, face recognition (which allows the device to zoom in on who's important sucks). I primarily use it to read stories to my kids. It's also a sluggish. I wouldn't buy again, wouldn't recommend. But at $100? Go ahead!
