Before making the choice about whether to go with various Ram + SSD option, I strongly suggest you watch the review video I've posted in the first post of this thread.
The 16GB Kit comes with two Single Rank 8GB modules (Ram chips only one side of the stick) which reduces the performance by certain degree as Ryzen Processors benefits from dual rank memory.
My recommendation will be buying the barebone and then get your SSD and Ram. They're charging extra $150 for 16GB Ram + 256GB SSD configuration which you can buy yourself. 256GB NVMe SSD can be found as cheap as $30-$40 if you look for the deals and 16GB kit will cost $60-$70.
Well you still have to get case. Mobo. Heatsink. Still bigger. For some tje size is imprtamt especially fitting back of hdtv
No, Deskmini comes with case, motherboard, powersupply, wifi, and VESA mount. Buying a 5700G + deskmini for $500 and you are in the exact same place as you are with this for $650.
If the extra inch of the deskmini really matters to you and youre willing to pay an extra $150 for it, then ok. But its still not a deal. This is MSRP at best.
EDIT: I was wrong, I assumed that the EliteMini was NUC sized but its much *bigger*
Deskmini is actually smaller!
155 x 155 x 80 mm vs
195 x 190 x 60mm
There is absolutely no reason to pay more money for this over a deskmini. It is better in every single way, including cost and performance.

From where are you getting the motherboard dimensions in the first place? Looks like you're quoting the case size instead of the motherboard. They went with a bigger chassis to accommodate a bigger cooler and those extra storage optipns. Check some of the reviews published in YouTube which has the disassembly showing the actual motherboard size rather than guessing. The motherboard is even smaller than the motherboard in Asrock Desk mini which uses STX Form Factor. This is way smaller than a mini ITX motherboard. A mini ITX uses standard desktop components including normal DIMM and PCIe x16 slot.
By the way, the alternative you are suggesting, has a quad core cpu which can be 60% slower and there is no support for the graphics driver from either AMD or Intel. May be you're not aware of that. May be for your work cases, vthst 4 core cpu in fine but this one is of a different league and your alternative is not really any alternative of this one.
Yeah these are all reasons I'm looking to move from that exact Hades Canyon to this. TB3 is the only big plus on the HC with an eGPU
You're at it again, I see. You seem to keep getting into these arguments with other users... but everyone else must be the problem, not you, right?
Remember the last deal where, as a non-involved party I told you your attitude was garbage? Your need to talk down to people is bewildering, especially when you are known to get things wrong too.
I will rather keep behaving like I do and you don't need to do moral policing work to me. I mean I don't see you do any kind posting or clearing doubts of others or anything constructive rather than posting these so called guidelines about what others should do. May be you should go through the whole discussion rather than quoting something from the middle. Put even the fraction of effort I put here and then may be try to advise me what I should do or not. I do have the right to answer if something has been thrown to me and I really don't need you to tell what I need to do, unless you can show me where I'm wrong in that specific discussion.
The question is not if others have problems or its mine. It's about whether the information shared here is correct or not. If someone claiming I'm giving wrong info but can't provide a single proof then they'll be corrected and that includes me.

Anyone happen to know where these are shipping from? Curious on the free shipping... and duty free shipping quotes. Guessing they are shipping from China..

If you honestly can't see yourself acting like a child in the throes of a tantrum, there's nothing more to say.
Minisforum has no support for this device, there is no support page for drivers or bios updates. The unit ships from Hong Kong, if there is something wrong with it, do you have to send it back to Hong Kong for repair. The specs sound nice on paper, but I will be very worried about keeping the motherboard up to date as there are no patches for security issues.
There is no toll-free number to get a hold of someone. Nice box, but I would not buy this.

I agree completely with your statement. HARD PASS !!!
In my opinion this is a stupid product. it has all of that CPU power but no way to install a graphics processor. What would you need that CPU power for?

I have purchased from them twice through Amazon. They are very responsive to emails and have a support facility (or person) in Texas for warranty issues. The Amazon order shipped from a local warehouse (possibly Amazon's) as I received my order in two days or less.
