Thanks for posting this OP Smilie ... sadly between the coronavirus and the drought in Taiwan (no idea if the recent flooding/monsoons there will help) making it difficult to make silicon, this might be the best deal we see for budget CPU's with integrated graphics until things change Frown .. I was lucky enough to snag a AMD Ryzen 3200g for $100 from newegg in January 2020 but that was 8 months ago and the pandemic/Taiwan drought has only made CPU shortages worse since then Frown ... PC mag's review says the 3000g normally sells for $50 to $65 when we're not dealing with the coronavirus and the drought in Taiwan

https://www.pcmag.com/reviews/amd-athlon-3000g

but again I assume that's under normal conditions. If you need to put a PC together right now and you just can't wait then I guess this is the best you can do unless you want to wait until Black Friday sales and see if major retailers somehow manage to get the 3200g back in stock (seems unlikely though as that's only 3 months away).

In the meantime I would strongly suggest putting yourself on the "back in stock" alert for the amd ryzen 3200g with Walmart and Newegg and B&H photo's websites and setting a camelcamelcamel alert on amazon for the "sold by amazon" (or if you want to take a chance on 3rd party sellers which from what I'm hearing can be really hit or miss) for the 3200g to go back in stock for $100 (or in amazon's case to set a camelcamelcamel price watch alert for that)...

I was very lucky in that Walmart sent me an in stock alert for the 3300x for $125 which I bought immediately ... my daughter's PC that I built luckily has a still functioning video card I snagged before the coronavirus epidemic so didn't need built in graphics on the CPU. So if your PC already has a video card whose performance you're happy with then put that on your list for in stock alerts too.

https://www.tomshardware.com/revi...cpu-review

I was sorely tempted to buy this newegg combo ... desperately want to put together a budget PC with a CPU with integrated graphics for a dear family friend (getting even a halfway decent video card is very expensive and they're as hard to get a hold of as a "normal priced" CPU nowadays) ... but in the end I decided to hold off until the CPU shortage gets back to normal (they're saying that won't be until the year 2022 or 2023) and hope that I can snag a 3200g for $100 around then (or alternately the amd rzyen 3000g goes back down to $50 in price and I can snag a decent video card for around $50).

You should have been able to purchase even latest gen at a discount. Not everything is in stock at all times, but it's been almost back to normal for a while now. This seems expensive for such old tech.

Amazon has the chip for $105, which I recently bought for a few business systems. They work great for office PCs. They were over $200 through a lot of the pandemic.

When/if things go back to normal, a chip swap is easy.

This CPU is slow and ancient. Not a good deal. Never thought I'd say a b450 board is incredibly overkill for a CPU it's paired with.

CPU's aren't hard to get anymore. If you need a budget CPU with integrated graphics, grab an 11400. They're in stock pretty regularly at $190-200. Join a stock checking Discord. They're not always in stock, but they do go in stock regularly, and stay in stock for a day or two at a time.

Because miners have decided the 3000G is now worth $100.

I wouldn't call this ancient. It's supposed to be cheap and designed as the G4560 killer. Works fine for a student pc. YouTube, word processing, web etc. The Vega 3, anemic as it is, can hardware decode VP9 and HEVC at 4K no problem. Great "gaming PC" if you're looking for a cheap system to run Stadia at 4K haha

My ancient 3750k is faster than this thing. Yikes. I don't know how anyone could call this a budget CPU. Maybe for frogger or pacman.

35watt cpu that is great for home use in a headless, Untangle firewall system. I have it installed with b450 motherboard., handles 14 devices with UTM features enabled with no problem.
