The images that were included in the post seem to show two different models of cot. One image shows the cot in a "flat" configuration. That looks accurate. There's another image that shows a cot in more of a "lounge chair" configuration. That appears to be a completely different model.

I have this cot. It's heavy ... definitely not for backpacking. It's also something of a challenge to set up. At the head and foot ends, you need to slide the crossbar through the sleeve of the material. First crossbar goes in fine, but the second can be a doozy. You have to pull it tight and there's a lot of tension on the fabric. The wife and kids are not strong enough to do it, so dad sets up everyone's cots. This is not necessarily a bad thing. Just know what you're buying.

In addition to the absolute size, consider that the models that collapse more compactly can be a real pain to put together. I bought a more extreme model so I could easily bring it along on some international trips where my only luggage is under-seat bags. The offset, however, for those extra-compact cots is a construction process a lot like an old-school tent.

This one is more like a collapsible camp chair. So you give up a lot of compactness, but gain ease of use.

Good luck!

Picked one up at $30 back in Jan, too. Love it! MiL didn't complain too much after her surprise visit last month, either...I'll have to make a few tweaks Wink

In for another. Thanks!

It was something like 38x8x8 and about 20lbs, if I recall correctly.

Semi related, but I used one of these with great success when my roommate brought in bedbugs. I ended up leaving that space, but the cot served it's purpose of keeping me bite free until I moved out.

Backpacking? I doubt it when the post specifically said "so I could easily bring it along on some international trips where my only luggage is under-seat bags."

This cot is big & heavy. Car camping or sleepovers is best application in my experience. I can't recommend this for backpacking. Takes a good amount of strength to setup as you have to stretch the canvas tight. They're pretty comfy once setup.

Good cot, bought it in the $20s a few years back
It's heavy, not for backpacking
Car camping or sleep overs for guests is a good thing

Carefully open and close the cots, it could cause a rip in the
Fabric if you aren't careful...
