Membership is effectively free with their $20 bonus gift card to offset the $20 cost of the membership. It's definitely worth signing up IMO especially if you like outdoor activities. The 10% you save is a nice perk that really adds up

It is also worth remembering that REI is the leader in this category and sets the promotional cadence. Many of their competitors will follow with a very similar deals at the same time. Shop around if you don't find what you want at REI.

REI coupons are members-only but sale prices are for anyone and everyone. You don't have to be a member but as others have/will likely point out, if you're going to shop at REI it kind of makes sense to join.

is there anything really turns out to be cheaper for real ? every time i shop at rei sale, the price turns out to be higher than other retail.

I have the Trail 25 (upgraded from an Osprey Daylite) and love it. It's comfy has a ton of room, and good organization inside. It also comes with a rain cover that I removed, but the pouch it's kept in as at the base of the bag and makes for a PERFECT place to keep trash. Easy recommend.
