343 have a very bad track record with the Halo series and the signs for this are not looking good. It was delayed for a year+ after a showing at last year's E3 that was so bad it became a meme and even with the delay they just announced it will be coming out without co-op and forge which are Halo staples.
The development process has been tumultuous with high profile exits, scathing insider posts from people that work there etc. 343's latest gaffe was to leave a lot of important release files in their 'preview' flight which people have been combing through, and early feedback on the story beats from these files is very poor.
It's also very clear from these leaks and things 343 have said that this MP is going to be designed around getting to you to spend as much money with micro transactions as possible. 343 have made it clear that ranking up their season passes will be grindy and will push you towards spending more money.
TL;DR: do not preorder this. If you must play it day one, get a cheap game pass deal.
